Patriot Readies Bolt USB Flash Drive With Native AES Encryption

Patriot Memory is readying a new USB flash drive called Patriot Bolt, which features native 128-bit AES data encryption. To protect data, the drive formats itself after 10 consecutive failed attempts to unlock it with its password. The Bolt is a USB 2.0 flash drive with read/write speeds of 27 MB/s and 13 MB/s, respectively, and comes in capacities between 8 and 64 GB (including 16 GB, and 32 GB). Prices range from 25.90 EUR, all the way up to 310 EUR.

Controller or host based AES? If it is host based it is no more secure than a standard flash drive is.

it reads like it is inside the flash drive as formatting itself won't work on any os (windows os's)
