Bulletproof iPod case

This is so crazy that it has to be mentioned. Some Japanese guy, who had his first iPod crushed to death in a crammed commuter train, is now protecting his new one with a 5mm Aluminum A5052 grade case which can stop a .22 bullet. The total weight of the entire setup with iPod is 446g.

He really needs to make one for the nano...
Anyway, to be serious it makes the iPod gigantic and I bet it cost him a fair bit to build and polish a case like that.

if you have someone who runs a CNC machine, it wouldnt be hard to buy a $40~ block of aluminum and have them laser mill it out. then polish by yourself.

thats a crazy case. I'd love to see one for the nano as well, the nano could use some extra weight, it feels like a toy.

They shot the .22 into the wrong place - aim for the screen or touch pad next time (and please post pictures).

Yeah but the soldiers never get given the armour to protect themselves over there so I doubt any of them would be too interested in these.

I left my iPod photo on the couch, and I sat on it. Still works, but freezes once in a while. I gave it to my dad, and I got a 30GB 5th Gen iPod! Woo! I've used about 23GB so far(a lot of movies!)

I burn CD-RW's in MP3 format, and then let my CD player handle them. 1 $0.70 disk, all my music library (CD's mostly), and changable "hard drives". Why get a bulletproof MP3 player case when you can use your CD player as a bracer?.

I tried that once with a cd player.(Iriver IMP-150. Damn nice cd player.)

When you can have *all* of your music on a player 1/4 the size, its just no contest...
Cd's get scratched, broken, and you have to carry a lot...

That's a good point...though, when your entire music library can fit on one CD, a CD player works just fine :).
