ASUS WX-Lamborghini Wireless Mouse Appears in Stores

ASUS detailed its WX-Lamborghini wireless mouse, which has been in cold-storage since September 2010, when it was first spotted. ASUS is an authorized manufacturer of Lamborghini-branded electronics, which has a line of high-end notebooks branded and inspired by the fast-car maker. Measuring 106.5 x 68 x 36 mm, the design of this mouse is inspired by the Lamborghini Concept S, the mouse uses 2.4 GHz wireless technology with a range of up to 10 meters from its receiver. The optical sensor's resolution can be set between 800 and 2,500 dpi. It has a total of 7 buttons, and a vertical scroll-wheel that's resembles the design of Lamborghini's stock wheel. It is retailing in Europe for around €38.

Doesn't have a lot of interesting lines for a Lambo design... Lambo's are supposed to be complex shapes made of many different sharp-edged surfaces. This doesn't have that.

Yellow&Nerdy?
Doesn't look ergonomic at all. Bet your thumb falls off after 2+ hours.

Lambo's were also tested in wind tunnels to test how aerodynamic they were. If you wish for Lambo mouses to be put through the same testing and design regime then i hope you have deep pockets to pay for the useless extra features, looks and go faster stripes that come as part of the final product.

It depends. Reventon and Murcielago are basically the same car but styling is like miles apart.
This mouse above is like Reventon of the mice.

Anyway, i sort of like it for a change despite i was never a big fan of stuff that's branded under car brand names.

Definitely. I'd almost consider getting this if it didn't have such a pronounced Lambo logo. As far as car-brand things go (other than cars), this is pretty nice.

this mouse seems to be based on the Microsoft Sidewinder X5/X8, I can tell because I used to own the X5(the most un-ergonomical mouse I've ever used), and this mouse has the same(or worse) disastrous "hump" where you'd place your palm on (it seems that the hump on the Lambo mouse is even more absurdly protruded, I can just imagine the pain resting your palm onto that edge), this"hump" is extremely uncomfortable, which is noted on several reviews. it make you bend your wrist while using, and after a few hours you would be this sore wrist similar to first time bowling.

"[...] When we last looked at Microsoft's revitalization of the Sidewinder peripheral line, we weren't very impressed. Though the mouse was technologically sound, it was painfully uncomfortable to use. We weren't alone in that assessment either; sites all over the Internet penned the Microsoft Sidewinder Mouse as a rodent [...]"

so... something to take note of before someone jumps into buying without doing actual research.

I see sales just from the badge.

Just like the ACER Ferrari products.

I love the look, but only 2,500 dpi is kinda low.

Funny you said that, because I use the Sidewinder X5 for gaming and I am very happy with it. It feels a bit big (probably because of the hump), but I like the ergonomics a lot. And that is with hours of Starcraft 2 gaming. Probably not a mouse for everyone (especially those with small hands), but big handed people should consider. The way I hold the mouse is to move my entire hand backwards so my middle finger just touches the scroll wheel, and my palm rests perfectly on the hump.

Not going to buy this mouse, I think money can be spent better on getting a Logitech Gx00 series or Steelseries Xai.

I have an x8, and I can't live without 4,000 dpi for MMO's and FPS, and RTS ( where high dpi shines!). So imo this should have had higher dpi and I would actually consider buying to go along with my white case.

Hm....

In theory if Porsche were to join up with a company and make a mouse, the design would most likely be much more ergonomic than the Sidewinder and the Lambo mouse due to the general shape of say the Porsche 911 vehicles.

Sounds like a good idea to me even though I do not like Porsche.

Bump definitely in a better place and overall shape of the roof sloping to the back suited more to a hand.

Because Lamborghini are not the fastest cars but they still are fast.
