MSI Launches the GT783 Gaming Notebook

The world's fastest gaming laptop, MSI's battle-ready GT783, just hit the market. It packs Intel's blazing second generation Core i7 quad core and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580M-the planet's fastest discrete graphics card. The GT783 racked up a record shattering 16,000 points on 3D Mark vantage, blasting the competition out of the water. To make this amazing machine even more amazing, it comes equipped with a SteelSeries gaming keyboard and top-of-the-line Dynaudio surround sound to bring your gaming experience to all-new levels. Now, you'll be able to pick of the competition without breaking a sweat.

The machine won the CES 2012 award for product innovation, seen by many as the highest honor of the high tech industry. MSI, where designing high-end record-breaking gaming notebooks is par for the course, will continue to design faster, more powerful notebooks that follow in the tradition of its gaming NBs best epitomized in the MSI GT783. The GT783 utilizes the wildly anticipated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580M top-end discrete graphics card which boasts 384 more CUDAs (Compute Unified Device Architecture) than the previous generation with advanced 256 bit broadband and 2 GB GDDR5 of display memory. You will be awed by how smooth 3D games run and by how incredibly realistic high-resolution games look.

Superior display

Eric Kuo, associate vice president for global sales, MSI Notebook, explains that the battle-ready MSI GT783 features top-of-the-line hardware, including NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 580M-the most powerful discrete graphics card in any laptop ever, to give you the best display performance out there. Not only did this king of notebooks smash the 3D Mark vantage high resolution test with 16,000 points, it also blasted through the 3,000-point mark in the most stringent 3D Mark 11 test, which meets DirectX 11 standards. These two history-making achievements more than testify to the fact that the MSI GT783 has the most advanced 3D processing capabilities of any NB in the world-more than enough to handle the new generation of exciting 3D games slated to hit the market in 2012.

From strength to strength

NVIDIA's top-of-the-line GeForce GTX 580M discrete graphics card: The powerful MSI GT783 comes locked and loaded with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580M discrete graphics card which boasts 384 more CUDAs than the previous generation, giving it 256 bit broadband and 2 GB GDDR5 of display memory to give it the most advanced hardware in the cosmos. This powerful machine broke previous records on the 3D Mark vantage with 16,000 points. That coupled with the fact that it supports DirectX 11 and NVIDIA PhysX technologies enabled the GT783 to break 3,000 on 3D Mark 11. You will be amazed by the detail in explosions going off all around you, smoke and dust over battlefields, as well as wisps of clouds and rippling water in adventure games.

Optimus overclocking display technology: The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580M discrete graphics card is not only the most powerful hardware architecture ever, when the MSI GT783 is processing power-hungry high-resolution 3D images, the Optimus overclocking display technology automatically engages system overclocking for crisper, clearer graphics and more detailed 3D images to give you animation that conveys a sense of speed and vastness as you blaze about the universe. Now, you can do some serious gaming without worrying that your laptop can't keep up.

Intel 2nd generation Core i7 quad core processor: MSI's GT783 features the Intel second generation Core i7 quad core processor. To kick up performance a few notches, the new generation Intel Core i7 processor supports Intel Turbo Boost 2.0, a technology which automatically allocates processor resources in accordance with processor load, thereby enhancing the core speed of each core to maximize computer performance.

32 GB of memory: The new generation MSI GT783 battle-ready gaming laptop comes equipped with four DDR3 memory slots to give you an incredible 32 GB of memory. In addition, the RAID 0 accelerated dual hard drive architecture doubles hard drive memory and the optional SSD hard drive instantly increases hard drive read speeds by 70%, more than enough to meet the needs of battle scenes and other complex graphics.

TDE technology: The GT783 uses MSI's own Turbo Drive Engine (TDE) technology, so just one touch of the luminescent Turbo hotkey located above the keyboard instantly revs up performance. The GT783 also has MSI's own powerful Cooler Boost technology; so again, just one touch of the luminescent hotkey above the keyboard kicks in the powerful cooling function to rapidly reduce system temp to enhance system stability.

Fusion of craftsmanship and SteelSeries keyboard

Just plain cool looking: The exteriors of the MSI GT783 gaming notebooks make you feel like you are at the controls of a starship and the matte black aluminum-magnesium alloy chassis adds an extra touch of class. What's more, they come with metal brush finish with layered luster and SteelSeries gaming keyboards with five LED backlighting modes. When the battle fleet sounds the call to battle, you can switch on the LED lighting to enhance that futuristic feel.

Windows function key relocated: Responding to cries from gamers, MSI got together with gaming equipment manufacturer Steelseries to create a keyboard for the GT783. Not only is the keyboard more rugged, the Windows function key has been repositioned to the right side to reduce the possibility of accidentally striking it when you're surrounded by bad guys.

Larger Ctrl and Alt keys: Most keyboards employ relatively small Ctrl and Alt keys, making it easy to punch a nearby key by accident when you're playing FPS games. The GT783' Ctrl and Alt keys were enlarged to reduce that possibility.

Backlighting for the task at hand: The MSI GT783 lets you choose from among five keyboard backlighting scenarios-Normal, Gaming, Wave, Breathing, and Dual Color, that can be used in coordination with variable section lighting, and seven colors offering over 1,000 variations in visual effects. Gamers will also appreciate the fact that when you depress the Gaming Mode hotkey, the frequently used W, A, S, D, and Ctrl keys located on the left side of the keyboard are all backlit in LED while the rest of the keyboard stays dark. This allows you to quickly find the key you're looking for, so you can remain focused on the rapidly changing melee you are in, giving you that extra edge you need to come out on top.

Cool starship cruiser exterior, superior multimedia

Beam me up: MSI went to great pains to meticulously craft the GT783, incorporating a futuristic star cruiser concept and elements into the overall all design and every detail of this gaming laptop. A luminescent MSI logo accentuates the metal brush finish of the GT783's magnesium-aluminum alloy cover. All elements come together to create a machine that marks the epitome of both style and technology.

High-end cinema sound: World-class leaders in sound technology from the Danish firm Dynaudio carried out countless precision calculations and studies to measure the best location and distance between user and laptop speakers to determine the ideal location for speakers on the GT783. The result: ideal line of transmission for sound waves for pure, crisp, faithful stereo reproduction to give you the perfect, obstruction-free multimedia experience. THX TruStudio Pro smart wrap around sound offers performance heretofore available only in cinemas and works in tandem with the cutting-edge speakers, so that the GT783 reproduces each and every sound faithfully, regardless of music or sound type.

Full HD display: The MSI GT783 sports a 17.3-inch full HD screen and comes with Cinema Pro technology for a crisper picture and richer colors. It also has an HD 720p webcam, so you can engage in clear, hiccup-free video conferences with friends and family anywhere in the world.

Latest USB 3.0 ports: The GT783 comes with USB 3.0 which boasts transfer speeds of 4.8 Gbps - 10 times faster than USB 2.0, so a 25 Gb HD film transfers in just 70 seconds. It also provides 80% more power for vastly faster charging speeds for external hard drives, flash drives, and other handheld electronic devices.

It says 'UPTO' 32Gb not that it has 32Gb, Unless you run a lot of VM systems from your desktop or use it as a file server. 32Gb is very excessive by any standards. for the average user, 4Gb is plenty. and 8Gb+ is just for epeen

I'll never buy a gaming laptop again after I bought my first Alienware almost 5 years ago. I didn't have space in my bedroom and spent a nice €2500 on one. Now I grew a pair of steel balls, modded the furniture and got a damn desktop.

Back 5 years ago I disliked the cheesy MSI gaming laptops with the flames...at least they seem to have matured with this.
