Matrox Epica Graphics Cards Validated with the Wyse Z90DE7 Thin Client

Matrox Graphics Inc. today announced its partnership with Wyse Technology, the global leader in cloud client computing, and the Wyse validation of its Matrox Epica Series graphics cards for the new Wyse Z90DE7 thin client. The Matrox Epica TC20+ dual-monitor and Matrox Epica TC48 quad-monitor add-in boards bring enhanced functionality across a wider range of multi-display configurations to the high-performance Wyse Z90DE7 thin client while maintaining energy efficiency and key thermal requirements. The new co-validated solution provides users with an optimal on-screen workspace experience for unprecedented productivity and workspace real-estate gains in demanding virtual desktop environments.
Matrox Epica Series graphics cards are ideally suited for thin clients based on their energy efficiency, low thermal properties, passive (fanless) cooling, and PCIe bus interface design. The Epica TC20+ supports two displays at resolutions up to 1920x1200 (digital) and 2048x1536 (analog) per output, and up to four VGA displays at resolutions of up to 1920x1200 via an optional quad upgrade cable. Additionally, the Epica TC48 can support up to four DisplayPort monitors to achieve resolutions of up to 1920x1200 or 2048x1152 per display. Combined with the Wyse Z90DE7, Epica boards provide a superior multi-display, cloud client computing platform capable of presenting much more information across more displays for market applications that require larger volumes of real-time information such as banking, government, and process control.

"With Matrox, we're providing even greater display capacity via a convenient PCIe form factor that integrates directly into our Windows Embedded Standard 7 based Z90DE7 thin client," said Rommy Channe, Senior Product Manager at Wyse Technology. "The Z90DE7's PCIe expansion slot, along with innovative multi-display technology from Matrox, gives us a secure, powerful, compact, energy-efficient thin client that satisfies the extended high-resolution display requirements often seen in securities trading and digital signage applications."

"Matrox is excited to be partnering with thin client leader Wyse Technology to bring even greater multi-monitor capabilities to the thin client market," says Ron Berty, Business Development Manager, Matrox Graphics Inc. "With the Epica-based Wyse Z90DE7 solution, large amounts of visual data on maximized screen real-estate will now be enabled on industry-leading thin client solutions."
