Thecus N2310 NAS Now Available in North America

The N2310, the latest entry level home and small office NAS from Thecus, is now available in North America. The N2310 provides fast, safe and reliable file storage for homes and small offices, all while consuming only 5W.

The N2310 is packed with useful features. Support for RAID storage (0, 1, and JBOD) offers speed and reliability. Web-based file access allows users to manage and access their files from anywhere, even another country. There's also a built-in FTP server to distribute and share files. The BitTorrent client lets the N2310 handle downloads by itself, saving power and freeing up resources on PCs. There's also Plex Media support, allowing users to manage and stream their media to devices such as the Xbox 360, as well as mobile devices.
Two USB ports allow users to easily copy photos and video direct from portable USB drives to the N2310, and plug in printers to use the NAS as a central print server for their whole network. In addition, there's USB 3.0 support to attach high speed external drives for backups and additional portable storage. There's also support for fast backup to USB-connected CD, DVD and Blu-ray drives, for safe long term archiving of valuable data.

Easy to Set Up
The N2310 plugs into all standard home networks with a simple LAN cable. The Thecus Intelligent NAS utility makes it incredibly easy for anyone to setup their NAS system. The utility allows users to easily set up their NAS disks as a RAID or JBOD volume. Once up and running, Intelligent NAS also allows users to effortlessly connect to the N2310's operating system, ThecusOS 6, where they can monitor, configure, and update the NAS and modules.

Streaming Media and Remote Access
Well equipped for a connected life, the N2310 not only offers users access to their files over the Internet, via their own private secure website, but is also able to stream stored video and audio to Android and iOS mobile phones and tablets over the internet. The N2310 makes it also easy to download and share files online, just drop the seed files into its BitTorrent client and watch as this little NAS does the rest. There's no longer any need to leave a PC running overnight for downloading, so the N2310 could even save on energy bills - its AMCC processor and advanced design mean it uses far less power than most PCs.

"Not only does the N2310 pack in a lot of the capabilities of larger and more expensive units, but it does so with style," said Florence Shih, General Manager at Thecus. "This dashing little black box can store up to 8TB of data with an unprecedented level of energy efficiency. In fact, powering the N2310 for an entire year would only cost you $5.03 in the US."

Featuring the new Plex Media Server, Transmission BitTorrent client, T-OnTheGo mobile support, and impressive performance (over 100 MB/s read and 80MB/s write), the Thecus N2310 is the perfect choice for home and SOHO users this December.

The N2310 supports Windows (XP, 7, 8, 8.1 and Server 2003+), Mac OS X, and Linux.
