Fujitsu Launches New Enterprise Laptops

Fujitsu today announced the simultaneous worldwide release of two new models in its FUJITSU PC LIFEBOOK E Series of laptops. Both of these models are uniformly designed for global enterprise customers and come equipped with the latest Windows 8.1 Pro operating system. Worldwide sales of the models begin today.

Within the LIFEBOOK E Series, these uniformly designed laptops for the enterprise are positioned as mainstream models loaded with all the basic functions in high demand by Fujitsu's global enterprise customers. With a port replicator and other accessories that can be used with other models in the E Series, Fujitsu delivers greater convenience for on-the-go use within offices.
Main Features of the New Products

1. Uniform design
The two models are the E554/J and the E544/J, which have a 15.6" LCD screen, and a 14.0" LCD screen, respectively. Apart from different screen sizes, these two laptops have a common design that enables shared use of not only internal components such as mainboard and BIOS, but also accessories that include port replicators, batteries, AC adapters, and multi-bay options where peripheral units can be interchanged depending upon intended use. In offices with unassigned seating, shared accessories means that separate items need not be purchased for every computer, contributing to reduced ICT costs. The user manuals developed by PC operations managers and other items can be shared, so without increasing administrative costs, it becomes possible to flexibility choose the tool that best suits the business needs at any given time.

Furthermore, the same port replicator can be used with the high-end models in the E Series, namely the E754/H, the E744/H, and the E734/H, so that even when additional laptops are deployed, the existing port replicators can be used.

2. Improved usability
The models are equipped with the latest 4th-Generation Intel Core i5 Processor, delivering high-speed system processing while conserving power. In addition, they support the latest wireless LAN standard, IEEE 802.11ac, making it easy to download even heavy, high-volume data. These models were designed in consideration of ease of use, being equipped with multi-bay slots that enable the simple interchange of peripheral units in line with applications, as well as other features such as the common positioning of each interface across all E Series models. Moreover, for the E554/J, a serial port is available as an option, enabling customers to connect their existing peripheral devices.

3. Support for an array of security functions
As options, the models can be custom-equipped with encrypted hard disk drives or encrypted solid state drives, fingerprint sensors, smartcard slots, and security chips, meeting the security needs of companies.

4. Ideal for deployment by global companies
These models offer a full lineup of the basic functions that are in high demand among Fujitsu's global enterprise customers, and all five models in the E Series can share optional accessories. By offering the same specifications worldwide, Fujitsu can support the procurement and deployment of laptops for customers doing business globally.
