TechPowerUp Staff Opening: News Editor

At TechPowerUp we are currently looking for one additional news editor to strengthen our ranks. This is a paid, part-time, remote position. You will be publishing news stories and press releases on our frontpage under minimal supervision.

As candidate you should bring a drive to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the tech industry, and a passion to write. Your written English should be excellent; non-native writers are welcome. Some basic image editing skills are required.

If you are interested, send the following to w1zzard@techpowerup.com:
  • Some personal info. Who? Where? Age? A bullet list will do.
  • Pick any recent hardware news topic, write your own news story about it. Length should be similar to TPU news posts (between 150 to 200 words).
  • Write a second story, an opinion piece on a different hardware news topic of your choosing. 200 to 250 words.
Please proofread your submissions properly.

Tangential, but I honestly cannot fathom why people use that function. Well, I can obviously, but it still amazes me. No matter matter how wile I thought a person was (which I never think) I cannot even imagine myself using that function. It's not how life works.

I'm still interested to know at least how much work this will be. Because reasons I can only legally work a few hours a day. I doubt I'll even try for this, but still.

Well, i might go for it. Been a long time lurker here on TPU, but joined the forums recently. I also finished my IT help desk specialist education this year and passed several certification exams, so i'll give it a try.

I always have found Filip to inject too much opinion into what should be news articles, but maybe that's just me... or maybe they do that on purpose.

I dont think he injects much of anything apart from typo's, bad grammar & occasionally bad information. But I like the guy because when i tried to correct some of his articles on NPU he deliberately marked them down as spam so they wouldn't appear on the site.

qubitThere are always some hateful muppets who have nothing better to do and the smartasses that like to bring that up here. If they want to make fools of themselves in public I'm fine with that. Thankfully the vast majority of the members are decent and it's those that I'm referring to.

Does that clarify it for you now?
i enjoyed your news & style as you dropped in different stuff (haters said many had nothing in common with this site approach....but at low level had....maybe was to hard for them to digest the info... )
