bugYou don't get what my gripe is with these CPUs... How about: they loose against i3 54W parts?
i did get that. what you don't get though, is the fact that 1. it depends on what are you going to use your system for, and 2. most importantly, the cost. with this offer, one can get a 6300 for 40$, how on the name of what's holy can intel beat this price? let's be pragmatic, for a gamer on a budget this offer is unbeatable. he can afford to build a system with a 6300 and in a year or 2 he can throw it away in an upgrade and build a zen or intel one. and all that for the cost of an i3. in that price range it's either a 6300 or a dual core Pentium. i wouldn't get the Pentium, nor would i suggest it to a customer.

also this.

do you see where the 6300 is? its soooooooooo beaten by the i3 which costs..

Well, a lot of people have been saying that any AMD CPU will get beaten by an i3, so it's got to be true...

On a more serious note, nice analysis. You're thinking rationally, and that's a good thing.

@$ReaPeR$ Boy, fanboys surely love to cherrypick.
The CPU suggested to me was the 8370E which is $129 on amazon. It also loses in almost every benchmark against the i3-4330: www.anandtech.com/show/8427/amd-fx-8370e-cpu-review-vishera-95w/2

I know AMD is still good if you want cheap (I've built AMD systems for friends), but my CPU budget is usually around $200 and in that price range AMD is pretty much a no show. Zen may change that, but I'm not due for an upgrade next year.

you are calling me a fanboy... LMFAO i hope you get the irony..
you have been trying to swing the conversation in ten different ways just to prove your point which is what? that AMD CPU's aren't for you? don't buy them then. that doesn't change the factual fact that if someone is on a very tight budget and wants a basic gaming system this offering makes the AMD CPU's the best price/perf. and i showed with graphs not opinions which equate to farts. as for the 8320e, it goes for 129$ right? so minus 50$ for the game that makes us 79$ compared to 151.48 for the 4330. www.amazon.com/dp/B00EUUN76U/?tag=tec06d-20

so your argument is? what again?

$ReaPeR$so your argument is? what again?
I think his argument is that AMD processors have horrible IPC and even a hyperthreaded i3 beats AMD's "8 core" 8370 for gaming, general responsiveness, power and heat efficiency, and of course chipset options like non-broken USB 3.0, compatibility with m.2 drives, PCIe 3, DDR4, etc.

I can't believe you guys are still pretending AMD chips are anything but trash. They were maybe an okay sell 3 years ago, now you have to be a special kind of fanboy to spend more money on a slower processor that will be obsolete the minute you open the box.

I guess I need to find a way to keep my future AMD purchases inside their box while running so as not to make them obsolete then. ;)

did you bother do read the previous posts or you are just spouting nonsense because.. reasons? did i say anywhere that they are the "best option in general"? did i say somewhere that they are vastly better than intel offerings? did i say somewhere that they have better IPC than intel offerings? no. i said "that doesn't change the factual fact that if someone is on a very tight budget and wants a basic gaming system this offering makes the AMD CPU's the best price/perf. and i showed with graphs not opinions which equate to farts. as for the 8320e, it goes for 129$ right? so minus 50$ for the game that makes us 79$ compared to 151.48 for the 4330. www.amazon.com/dp/B00EUUN76U/?tag=tec06d-20"
now, your argument is? what? intel is better? yes it is. is it as cheap? no. it is not. not even by a longshot.

lets make my point more clear.

190$ minus the 50 of the game takes us to 140$. with that price, you can throw them away after a year and get your beloved intel processor, a proper i5 and not a crappy dual core with ht.

ps. this was sent from my i7 6700HQ laptop. with a gtx 950m. now call me a fanboy again.
@Captain_Tom check this out mate.

So again your argument hinges on the CPU coming with a bundled game. Assuming intel CPU cannot come with bundled games and assuming you can actually sell that game for $50, you are right.

what do you mean again? that was my argument to begin with. also, i don't have to assume anything, intel hasn't got a similar offer because they don't need to. and you don't have to sell the game, its a AAA title that many people would like to play, even if you dont sell it, it adds to the value of the bundle. as i said, its 140$ that you can throw away after a year and get something much better. and you are left with the game to enjoy. so, in my book that's a win-win situation.

Oh, right. You're talking about a world where you build a box for $190 (with a use MB) to play DX:MD on it. Keep it up, you're making more and more sense with each post.

you know that when you are out of arguments you can just stop right? resorting to insults is just childish.
