SilverStone Intros the 3 cm Thick NT08-115XP Ultra Low-profile CPU Cooler

SilverStone introduced the NT08-115XP, an ultra-low profile CPU cooler designed for media PC builds, and replacement for stock coolers. This top-flow cooler measures 101 mm x 101 mm x 33 mm (LxWxH), and is made of a copper-cored aluminium heatsink with forked, spirally-projecting fins, ventilated by a 10 mm-thick 80 mm fan that spins between 1,200-3,400 RPM, pushing up to 5.64-15.98 CFM of air, with a noise output of 16.5-28.98 dBA. The cooler is designed specifically for Intel LGA115x series CPU sockets (LGA1156, LGA1155, LGA1150, LGA1151), and can handle thermal loads of up to 65W. It features a push-pin type retention mechanism similar to those found on Intel's stock coolers. The cooler is expected to go on sale on the 8th of December.

The intel stock cooler might even perform better LOL since the intel heatsink is a bit taller than this one...:p

this vs stock - slimmer and little more silent for same temps (maybe). either way - look at that tinny case - with cooler like this - yes you can run i7 in there (obviously 35w versions).

JetsterThis is 30mm tall.

Stock is 50mm tall
Therefor I'd say this cooler's performance will be worse than a stock intel cooler.

Not the point of this cooler. Its meant to be shorter not cooler. Although I bet it compares

Also at 65w cooling its meant for i5 6500 or lower

JetsterThat would be 47mm tall

This is 30mm tall.

Stock is 50mm tall

So the point of this cooler is its low profile for thin case. 20mm shorter than stock

And no way is it louder than stock. Now is it worth the price? not sure
I get that but what case? I have a tiny itx case myself and the standard intel cooler fits just fine, even in the pic they provide a intel stock cooler would still fit.
