Acer Announces the Predator Z35P - 35", 1800R, 3440x1440, G-SYNC

Acer has added another entry to their Predator line of gaming monitors. The Z35P comes in to replace the company's now aging Z35, which boasted of a 2560x1080 resolution (which while relatively low for today's standards, I have to say I really enjoy.) The Z35P brings the specs up to speed with today's standards, with a higher resolution and a better contrast ratio than its predecessor. Its design reminds me of a running Flood infection form, honestly, but that may be just me.

The Z35P is based on a 35" AMVA panel with a 3440x1440 resolution (2.39:1 aspect ratio and 106 PPI), has a relatively low maximum brightness of 300 nits (no HDR support here I'm afraid), a 2500:1 contrast ratio, a 100 Hz refresh rate, 178°/178° viewing angles, a 4 ms response time, and a 1800R curvature. Reports indicate the refresh rate can be overclocked from 100 Hz to 120 Hz (with G-SYNC to boot), which isn't all that shabby. Connectivity-wise, the Predator Z25P features 1x HDMI 1.4 port, 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 4x USB Type-A headers (with 1x USB-B input) and 1x 3.5-mm audio jack which drives the two 9 W integrated speakers. While in operation, the panel consumes up to 65 W of power. The Acer Predator Z35P is expected to be available in the U.S. in the coming weeks for $1099.99.

A curved 27" Acer 1080p G-Sync was on my list a while ago but I'm glad I went with a "regular flat" 23.8" high dpi Dell 1440p G-Sync (165Hz) !!:D:rockout:

I do like the looks of curved though...:)

Curved TVs are pointless given how far away your generally sit. Curved monitors are great though, especially of the 21:9 variety. They do a fantastic job of filling up your field of view without requiring you to really move your head about to see the far edges of the screen.

1800R stands for the screen's curvature, and is more informative than just saying "curved" =)

Hmmm, haven't played an RTS in this screen yet. Gotta try it, but I can see how that would be obnoxious.

check it out maybe not that bad with your resolution but with 3440x1440 scaling it makes everything small

A few weeks ago this Dell was still 526 Euros at the cheapest shop, then suddenly the prices dropped and cheapest was 399,22 (shipping included) and I ordered it right away!!
400 Euros for a G-Sync monitor and warranty of 3 years is cheap in my country.

I absolutely agree with @ERazer ...I am using the Freesync model of the X34 Predator (XR341CK) and the 21:9 with the curve was a real eye opener for me. I did not realize how much additional real estate would be available on the screen. And as a little bonus, Blu-Ray in full 21:9 glory, without black bars is really nice.

This one looks like the natural evolution of the X34, which means it should be a really nice monitor.

With a fast enough DPS I honestly don't notice. Games like Stellaris and Total War series are glorious on Ultrawide monitors. So much information on screen at once.

Witcher 3 of course is just absolutely stunning as well. One of these days I'll upgrade to a 21:9 high framerate monitor, but for now I'm quite content with my Ultrasharp U3415W.

So what distinguishes this from the X34? Panel type?
Will there be an updated X34?
I just want ultrawideHDR already with g-sync and 144Hz and no TN.
My money is just waiting to be spent, Acer.

Im like 98% positive there was a X34 update a while ago that made it reach 120Hz.
Very similar to what got changed here. X34p maybe? Or X34A? I do not remember.

x34P i think it was delayed or got axed, but really can you tell 100hz to 120hz. I cant tell 100hz from 144hz

When will we move forward to DP1.4 monitors? GPUs have been out there for more than a year...

We really really need 34-35" 3440x1440 144hz freesync curved ultrawide beauties for less than 1000€...

Probably when they make the HDR step.

I don't have one to try that but I think I could tell the differences. I can see the shot of a shotgun fly and a lot of people can't see that. You have to know what to look for and where.
I'd like to see one of the 240Hz next to the rest but ultrawideHDR seems nicer. Maybe Microcenter has a demo.

The curvature on my X34 is so slim, you cannot even notice it on daily use.
Best monitor I've ever owned.

Not sure which screen is better on blacks, IPS or AMVA? Guess both are looking similar....

There are much cheaper options out tgere using this exact same panel. The only unique feature is the overclock, which isnt worth 200usd even if its garaunteed(its not)

AMVA panel = better blacks with higher refresh rate with this model

x34 has IPS = better colors with slight lower refresh

so its up to you

I have a similar Acer 38" curved monitor, it's great, the curvature helps me to see from edge to edge. I won't settle with anything otherwise.
