AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990X 32-core CPU Listed for €1509

After rearing up its performance chops in Cinebench, impressing with its score (as well it should, considering it's a 32-core, 64-thread beast), we can now add another, arguably more important metric to the upcoming AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990X... Price. And pricing, if the early listing from German site Cyberport.de is anything to go by, seems adequate to the level of performance - and bragging rights - earned from dropping one of these onto your AMD system. €1509 (~$1750) is almost double that of AMD's previous top-end Threadripper 1950X, which is on sale, through Amazon.de, for €777 ($999). A doubling in cores does seem to warrant a doubling in price - the fact that the 2990X is selling for less than that, though, remains slightly impressive. Let's see what Intel can pull anything else to compete out of its proverbial hat.

An MSRP of 1799$ is all they really need. That would make TR2's 16C\32T an 899$ CPU, and 12C\24T possibly a 649$ one. Neat.

1500$ would be more proper price and 750$ for 1950X but that's me :)

At this point they are probably undercutting Intel by too much.

My thoughts exactly. They should make this bad boy $2000. And It will still sell like hotcakes. Price the 24 core one at $1500.
I mean, what is Intel gonna respond with. That $10000, power slurping, "5GHz" Xeon monstrosity. Yeaaaahh, I don't think so.

That's limited by the socket and MB. There's only so many pins (ok, not pins now) and traces. It already has a lot making LOLtel look like the special kid in the corner during recess.

Now all that remains is for Intel to respond. I kinda wonder what they'll launch and at what price.

Maybe another demo... with a x299 chip at 10GHz, but forget to mention it's using liquid helium.

No big deal, it's just the price of an intel 10 core two years ago. AMD dead. /s

In Germany the price is always INCLUDING Tax. Means 1509 EUR INCLUDING 19% Tax.

Means without the tax it would be 1270 EUR. In dollars and without the tax it is 1469 USD.

If it follows the 2700X like TR1 did with the 1800x, then it it'll be 1,200 USD pretty fast.
