End of life for AMD64 Socket 754

AMD is no longer actively producing Athlon 64 Socket 754 CPUs.

Last orders will be taken mid-June. After that, only the Sempron and Turion 64 will be available for Socket 754.

Since there is some delay between last CPU shipped from AMD and last CPU available on retailer shelves, you should be able to get Athlon64's for S754 till fall at least.

This move clearly shows that AMD sees the future in Socket 939.

What benefits does the Turion have over the standard newcastle 754s? Should ppl rush out fitting these Turions in their skt 754 mobos? (assuming you can actually find one on the market) lol
