ASUS Announces Electro Punk Gaming Laptops and Peripherals

ASUS Republic of Gamers has recently announced a new series of Electro Punk special-edition gaming devices decked out in a bold black-and-pink color combination. ROG has a long history of weaving Aura Sync into a huge ecosystem of devices to let gamers shine a light on their personalities through their gear. However, many gamers are looking for ways to express themselves without powering on their RGB lighting. That's why the ROG color palette is expanding to include a new cyberpunk-inspired shade.

Creating a new color for any ROG device takes care. Selecting a shade, implementing it, and matching it across a variety of materials is complicated for just one device, much less an entire collection. Fortunately, ROG designers agreed early on to focus on cyberpunk-inspired pinks. After scrutinizing approximately 10 shades of robust roses and crisp corals in different lightings and environments, ROG designers settled on a high-energy hue with the hex color code #F7266B.

To make the colored highlights more impactful, classic black was selected as a backdrop. On a practical level, dark materials hold up well over time, which is crucial for heavily handled devices. Laptops are frequently pulled in and out of bags, mice can exhibit wear, and ear cups and bands on headphones endure constant use. Dark colors look crisp and clean, while adding the perfect contrast to brighter accents and RGB lighting.

A complete collection
The Electro Punk color combination is available across a full set of matching ROG devices that includes the ROG Strix G15 gaming laptop, ROG Strix Go 2.4 headset, ROG Strix Scope TKL keyboard, ROG Strix Impact II mouse, ROG Sheath mouse pad, and ROG Ranger BP1503 backpack. This collection of gaming gear has everything a player needs to compete and win in style, anywhere.

The 15-inch ROG Strix G15 focuses on gaming fundamentals to make gaming accessible to a wider audience. The Electro Punk edition puts a coral crown on a streamlined gaming machine. A sleek stripe around the chassis mirrors the outlined edge of the touchpad, while cybertext patterning adorns the deck. Brighter touches include highlighted WASD keys and an unmissable pink ROG logo across the lid.

Inside, up to the latest 10th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU has 8 cores and 16 threads to speed through everyday work and play. Thanks to an exotic liquid metal thermal compound painted across the entire ROG 2020 lineup of laptops featuring 10th Gen Intel CPUs, these processors perform better with less noise. For solid frame rates in a variety of titles, Strix G is configurable with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER GPU.

It's combined with up to a 240 Hz gaming display that enables silky smooth graphics. The panel's 3 ms grey-to-grey response time makes fast-paced movements crisp. Strix G15's versatility is rounded out with ultrafast WiFi 6 networking for lower latency and less lag on compatible networks, up to two NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSDs running in RAID 0 for warp-speed load times, and a third upgradable SSD slot that lets users add terabytes of space. Strix gaming laptops all feature an easy-upgrade design that hugely simplifies memory and storage modifications.

Piping hot-pink details in and around the headband, ear pads, and ROG logo give it that special touch, while the rest stays bold black to prevent stains. Strix Go 2.4 stands out for its exceptional sound quality, too. It features signal-diversion technology for a wide soundstage, and full, immersive game audio. A detachable boom mic powered by industry-leading, AI-powered noise-cancellation provides clearer sound for chatting and gaming anywhere, while built-in buttons allow fast access to volume and mic controls.

ROG Strix Scope TKL Electro Punk gaming keyboard
Eye-catching keys accent the edges of the new ROG Strix Scope TKL Electro Punk keyboard. Aura Sync lighting shines under every key, through the ROG logo, and even casts an RGB underglow from below. This mechanical keyboard was created specifically for fast-paced multiplayer gaming, forgoing a full number pad to make more desk space for rapid mouse movements. Its enlarged left CTRL key is also easier to find in the FPS frenzy. Decked out with Cherry MX switches, gamers can punch in complex commands with confidence. With its durable, aluminium-topped construction and compact size, Strix Scope TKL Electro Punk is easy to fit into backpacks for travel to LANs, tournaments, and other esports events.
ROG Strix Impact II Electro Punk gaming mouse
Programmable buttons above the thumb-rest pop against the body of the new ROG Strix Impact II Electro Punk gaming mouse. With Aura Sync-enabled RGB lighting integrated into the logo, scroll wheel, and front, this stunner shines from top to tail.

A new look doesn't change Strix Impact II's enduring appeal. Designed with pro gamers in mind, it delivers smooth action for serious play and ergonomics optimized for comfort. Its lightweight, 79 g frame features a pivoted button mechanism for precision speed and a tactile feel. Even the mouse's soft-rubber coated cord minimizes snags and drag. Personalizing Impact II's performance is simple. The 6,200 dpi optical sensor ensures accuracy and responsiveness, while an on-the-fly DPI button can switch between four sensitivity profiles. An exclusive push-fit switch socket design makes it simple to change click resistances and extend a mouse's lifespan. Five programmable buttons can be customized to suit any playstyle.
ROG Sheath Electro Punk gaming mouse pad
Every Electro Punk edition Strix G15 laptop comes with a special ROG Sheath desk mat that dials up pinpoint precision for gaming mice. At a whopping 35 inches across and 17 inches deep, the pad provides unrivaled comfort and cushion for ROG peripherals.
Tightly woven fabric tops a nonslip back that doesn't budge. Reinforced stitches along its bright edge limit fraying, while predominantly black fabric across the right-hand side helps minimize scuff marks in the most-trafficked areas.
ROG Electro Punk backpack
The Electro Punk collection is made more portable with the bundled ROG Ranger BP1503 backpack. Customized with pink piping, patches, and a saucy slash across the front, this 15-inch laptop backpack is made with a durable, lightweight water-repellent exterior to protect gear from drizzle and everyday splashes. Mesh netting inside lets users organize their cords in tangle-free fashion, while a cushioned compartment keeps a Strix G15 or other gaming laptop cozy.

Not that I have anything against pink, but why only pink? Is that just some sort of specific color for "Electro Punk"? I would have at least thought any random "Neon" color + Black would have sufficed for "Electro Punk". I could understand not going with Neon Blue and Neon Orange only because it's too similar to Tron with the particular design aesthetic on these devices, but why not also Neon Green, Neon Yellow, or Neon Purple too ("Electro Punk Neon RGB Edition")?
