TechN Announces a GPU Water Cooler for AMD 6800, 6800 XT and 6900 XT and Introduces Pure Copper Into the Line-up

TechN adds a new cooler and new materials to the portfolio of high-end water cooling components. AMDs Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards with reference design receive a full-cover water block made from POM with a pure copper coldplate. For the best in class CPU cooler for AMD AM4, there is also a new pure copper version available. The TechN GPU Waterblock RX 6800/6900 (XT) marks the start of a totally new product line with the combination of the materials POM / Acetal and a pure copper coldplate. The new precision crafted cooler fits AMDs reference PCBs for Radeon RX 6800, RX 6800 XT and RX 6900 XT. It shares the modern industrial design DNA as well as the striving for uncompromised cooling performance with the rest of the product family.

An optional aluminum backplate with sophisticated black anodized finish further demonstrates the relationship with the TechN CPU water blocks, which are now also available in a pure copper version. Pre-orders for the TechN GPU water block for AMD 6000 series are starting now with delivery estimated for mid july. The price for the water block is 136.90 Euros, the TechN GPU backplate for AMD 6000, which improves the performance and gives the cooler a full enclosure look, costs 34.90 Euros. All TechN products are available at www.techn.de and selected partners.

Curious, has AMD sold enough of the 6800/6900 cards to support a profitable water cooling block market?
Especially since (I assume) most wont be watercooled anyhow.

I don't know how many total quantity of reference cards did AMD sell, but I only know that they having been selling directly cards on MSRP since the launch. :D
There are drops of cards on their website every second week and these sell like hot cakes.
I know it because I tried to get one for my son (either 6900XT or 6800XT) multiple times and they were sold out within seconds when they put them online.
I was not fortunate enough to get one. The others were faster every time. :(

I actually own two RDN2 cards now (6800XT reference and 6900XTU Liquid Devil Ultimate). :D
One is in my computer and the other is in my son's computer.
He had an Nvidia GTX 1070Ti that I was able to sell for 350€ on eBay. Amazing price considering I bought it for 400€ three years ago. :kookoo:

6800XT reference for my son that I eventually bought from an online shop after failing to get one from AMD directly.
I paid 1100€ instead of 649,87€ that AMD sells it for directly through their own store but impossible to get since one need to have reaction time faster than in shooter games.
Still that was okay price considering that non-reference cards were selling for 1600€ when I bought this 6800XT reference.
It is not from a private scalper but an online eBay store that provides also standard 2 years warranty with a bill.
I will soon change the cooler on this one with EK Quantum Vector block. I have already this block in my hands.

6900XT Liquid Devil Ultimate an XTXH card in my computer. This came pre-fited with EK water block.

I suppose companies like TechN has some info from AMD otherwise most probably they will not launch these blocks so late in the game.

ThrashZoneAs far as ocn goes that site went down hill long ago shedding users left and right
There's too many trolls there just ask a question they didn't approve and boom troll fest and moderators that do nothing but post on some silly one million post thread

I gave the optimus rep/ sells men as much negative feedback as techn and ek for that matter I play no favorites lol
But quality speaks for it's self
But we'd starve if it were up to optimus production for sure.
Concur on both parts. OCN used to be cool five years ago. They pander to trolls and shills to get post counts vs their marketing.

And again, concur. I just want the best product w/o it being an ugly fest... need a lil bit of aesthetics to go with the good machining.

They don't really look at sales numbers and watercoolers are a strange breed and number few and far between. And yet they still make blocks for cards not many would ever think to watercool like a GTX970 where the block was half cost of the card or more.

ThrashZoneI had zero interest in a nickel plated block or even freebie nickel block they were cheap already barely 100.us lol all he/ techn had to do was private message me with a copper block and price = done
Hey Thrash but it seems like your prayers have been answered. They also launched a copper version of their CPU block, maybe now you can finally test them for yourself and stop trash talking without ever having had one in your hand.

Haile SelassieLOL, that font is exactly the same as the one EK uses. Take a closer look.

All in all another garage attempt, masking incompetence (lack of coldplate passivation or even plating, RGB illumination, etc.) as elitism. It is just baffling how this consitutes as newsworthy.
Can confirm, same font, only used in CAPS.

Hi,
Ever think pointing out how bad the other samples were caused techn to bin those bad milling samples out and not send them to market and to unsuspecting customers ?
If not just wow.

I sure don't pray for things like this I assure you
Copper option is just good sense ;)

For the record
Exterior cosmetic modification like color preference changes hardly destroys anything lol people have been doing mods on exterior of water blocks/ mother boards every since there was someone with build themes in mind just take a look at the mods section there are many lol
