Genesis Announces Thor 303 RGB and TKL Keyboards

The Genesis Thor 303 RGB is the successor of the popular Thor 300 model. Available in two versions, Full and TKL, it provides users with the ability to exchange switches as well as RGB PRISMO illumination. The keys are finished with a special technique, so this unit will serve gamers for years to come.
The Genesis Thor 303 features a simple, aesthetic design. The model is based on a durable, aluminium frame, which includes exchangeable Outemu Blue switches. They are characterized by high durability of up to 50 million clicks. The switches' reaction time is 8 milliseconds, while the actuation force is equal to 55 g.

The Thor 303 RGB keys are topped with special caps, which thanks to the employed Double Injection technology withstand abrasion even after years of work. The unit also incudes the N-key rollover and hot swap functions, so that users can change the keys in the keyboard by themselves. The manufacturer has also included the RGB LED illumination with PRISMO effect - users can select from among 25 lighting modes. They can choose a proper mode in the included software, which can also be used to create macros and save user profiles. The Thor 303 RGB is also equipped with 11 multimedia keys.
A second, TKL, versions of the Genesis Thor 303 will also be available. This model does not have a numerical keyboard, which means smaller size. The unit was especially designed for players who have less space on the desk and travel with their equipment often. So owners of this model will have 87, instead of 104 available keys.

The new mechanical Genesis keyboard will be available for purchase in the coming days. The price of the Genesis Thor 303 is set at 56,99€ / $64.99, while the TKL version of the Genesis Thor 303 will cost 49,99€ / $59.99. Both modes are available in white.

Technical specifications:
  • keyboard type: mechanical
  • switch type: Hot Swap Outemu Brown
  • switch durability: 50 million clicks
  • actuation force: 55 g (+/- 10 g)
  • actuation point: 1.8 mm (+/- 0,6 mm)
  • number of keys: 104 (87 in the TKL version)
  • multimedia keys: 11

Of course. Some go way overboard(I guess some would consider that to include me), but I just like to set a few non-bright color schemes(mostly into the red-Barney purple end of the spectrum) and stick with them. Plus I prefer a darkened room so I don't need to have the monitor brightness cranked up too high(easier on the eyes), so an rgb keyboard is a must since I'm not one of those who has every key pin-point position memorized. The only thing I do not like with the majority of these rgb keyboards is the whole friggin thing is lit up instead of just simply having the characters illuminated on the keys without it bleeding out.

Could take this a couple ways. One being that Genisis might be pulling a Logitech, designing it so you cant swap out keys like you can with most mechanical boards

I like my RGB as well, but tastefully done of course. But hey, I guess if people want to go overboard with it, more power to them I suppose. I tend to keep my setup on a red, black and white (I just pretend its silver, lol) gradient, or single color (lime green) most of the time. And then there's times when I just like playing around with colors and effects.

As a visually impaired person, I absolutely cannot be without RGB on my keyboard! And yeah, I get that just white backlighting would suffice but where's the fun in that, you know?

Minimal RGB set to a static color (purple my beloved) is fine by me. I'm not interested in having Las Vegas on my desk. And absolutely no RGB on fans.

if you learn a little of proper typing there is no need to actively memorize keys

Sorry guys, no dedicated media controls and volume buttons? No purchase. Fail for you.

Is this an offer to pay for my keyboard/typing lessons?
Besides that, I'm trying to get use to a mechanical keyboard since I'm use to typing on a laptop & keyboards that have low profile keys. Not even an old Apple IIc had such high profile keys on its keyboards.
