ASUS today announced the ROG Rapture GT-BE98, the world's first quad-band WiFi 7 gaming router, and the ASUS RT-BE96U, a tri-band WiFi 7 router for home and business, at CES 2023. Both routers feature the latest technologies exclusive to WiFi 7, including extended 320 MHz channels in the 6 GHz band, 4K QAM modulation, Multi-Link Operation and Multi-RU Puncturing.
For businesses, ASUS is also unveiling three new ExpertWiFi devices: the EBM68 mesh system, EBR63 router and EBA63 access point, with more networking solutions to follow in the second half of 2023. These devices support the highest number of SSIDs in the industry, self-defined networks, up to 12 mesh nodes, and enterprise-grade network security. Each device can be easily managed using the free ASUS Router mobile app. For locations impacted by thick walls made of brick or concrete, ASUS offers the ZenWiFi Hybrid XC5, the world's first Multimedia over Coaxial (MoCA) mesh router, which provides four ways to connect to hybrid backhauls while supporting up to 2.5 Gbps connections through wired backhauls.Next-level speed and style
In addition to a new set of networking features, the ROG Rapture GT-BE98 also offers up to 25,000 Mbps of bandwidth for unparalleled gaming experiences, and the ASUS RT-BE96U offers up to 19,000 Mbps; both deliver to the pioneers of tomorrow a premium experience with the most cutting-edge technologies The 6 GHz channel on both routers offers speeds of up to 11,525 Mbps, delivering groundbreaking performance for online gaming, streaming, downloading and more.
The GT-BE98 also presents a distinctive aesthetic: the top is partly transparent so that users can enjoy seeing some of the advanced circuitry and heatsinks that make this router powerful. At the same time, a bold graphic design communicates the ROG spirit and even some of the core specs.
Both routers are powered by potent quad-core 2.6 GHz processors, and the GT-BE98 features three 10 Gbps LAN ports to handle the heaviest network traffic, while the RT-BE96U features one 10 Gbps LAN/WAN port and one 10 Gbps LAN port. Meanwhile, users benefit from expanded signal coverage and range through ASUS-exclusive RangeBoost Plus technology, and the GT-BE98 features triple-level game acceleration that can enhance connections from the local network all the way to a game server anywhere in the world.
ASUS will release more WiFi 7 routers in 2023.
An all-new ExpertWiFi router series
The ExpertWiFi series features a minimalistic and professional aesthetic, with a pristine white exterior designed to blend into a business environment. These devices can be mounted on a wall or ceiling, or be left freestanding, according to the user's preferences.
Using the self-defined network feature, each of the Ethernet ports on these ExpertWiFi devices can be assigned to a VLAN for different business scenarios. Business owners can also choose from different types of guest portals, such as those that may be used for social logins and public WiFi. All these ExpertWiFi devices support custom logos, branding and visual templates to fit particular business styles and to engage with customers in different ways.
Whether it's a small business or a large factory, ExpertWiFi networking products are prepared to scale to the customer's needs. The EBM68, EBA63 and EBR63 also support up to 12 node connections, so businesses can greatly expand the size of their network using AiMesh-compatible devices. Other routers and mesh systems are typically limited to 9 mesh nodes.
As a bonus, this ExpertWiFi series can provide backup WAN access when internet services are not being provided on premises or when they are inaccessible. In this scenario, the business operator can connect one of these ExpertWiFi devices to their Android phone or iPhone with a USB cable to use that phone as a mobile hotspot for the entire local network.
Last but not least, this series also offers enterprise-grade network security in the form of a free subscription to ASUS AiProtection Pro and Safe Browsing features, with easy WiFi network setup and management through the all-in-one ASUS Router mobile app.
The world's first MoCA mesh system
When thick interior walls impact local network signal strength, devices like the ASUS ZenWiFi hybrid XC5 are there to step in. The world's first MoCA mesh system offers a combination of physical connections, wireless connections and 160 MHz wireless channels to boost network speeds up to 5500 Mbps - 2500 Mbps over MoCA, 2402 Mbps on the 5 GHz channel, and 574 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz channel. Wherever the user has existing coaxial cables installed, they can set up such a network. A four-way hybrid backhaul is also available across MoCa, the two WiFi bands and Ethernet. Meanwhile, wired backhauls can support up to 2500 Mbps on the MoCA connection, and all connections to this device can enjoy the ASUS-exclusive benefits of AiMesh, AiProtection, Instant Guard and Safe Browsing.
