Publisher Secured for "Twinsen's Little Big Adventure" Remake

Developer 2:12 experienced a grim summertime last year—their "Twinsen's Little Big Adventure" reboot was canned due to lack of publisher interest, and members of the team were—unfortunately—let go. CEO Ben Limare outlined a Plan B that pivoted on 2:12's ongoing remaster projects: "(we will) channel our focus and energy into the remastered version of Twinsen's Little Big Adventure (TLBA Remastered). We will explore whether we can reincorporate the reboot's ideas into the remaster, but that's a conversation for another time." Securing a publishing deal for said remaster was a key goal, and this seems to have been achieved according to a pre-Christmas 2023 announcement.

Limare shared the good news, although he stopped short of naming the game's new financier: "after months of hard work behind the scenes, we are thrilled to share a great piece of news: we have a publisher! Twinsen is (really) back! Our first collaboration will be the remake of Twinsen's Little Big Adventure Classic...yes, you read that right: a remake!" 2:12 released a late December update that explained the scope of this slightly rejigged remake. Read on below.
2:12The Alchemy of the Remake
Thus, the remake project was born, merging the best of our initial ideas and classic elements of the series. This remake of Twinsen's Little Big Adventure Classic originally made in 1994 will integrate:
  • A smoother gameplay
  • A modernized main storyline
  • The geographical continuity of outdoor scenes
  • A reinvented artistic direction
  • The improvements from "TLBA 2 Classic"
  • A harmonization between TLBA 1 and TLBA 2
Other changes and novelties are planned, but we will talk about them later. 2:12 hopes these details answer your questions and clarifies our intentions.

Your Involvement
What are your expectations for this remake? What elements would you like to see integrated or improved? Your passion and suggestions guide us in this adventure.

As a result, the game's name is now Twinsen's Little Big Adventure. To support us, add the game to your Steam wishlist and share it with your friends.
LBA Twitch Marathon
Community members have organized a Little Big Adventure streaming marathon this weekend—its schedule can be found here. Limare expressed appreciation for this (currently) ongoing event: "Once again, you are doing wonders!...We are so thrilled to see this kind of event happening. We would like to thank all streamers and the organization, especially Phreak."

I still have the original box/cd from the original. Hope they manage to properly release and have success with it.

I don't recall them being involved as a publisher...unless it was a specific regional thing back in the day. LBA 1 was distributed by EA in Europe, Activision in North America. Adeline Software International (a French studio) made the game and its 1997 sequel.
