SteelSeries Announces the Apex Pro Gen 3 Series Keyboard, Starting at US$190

SteelSeries, the original esports brand that fuses gaming and culture, today unveiled its latest innovation, the Apex Pro Gen 3 Series keyboards.

Originally launched in 2019, the Apex Pro revolutionized the gaming world by introducing fully adjustable actuation, marking the most significant advancement in gaming keyboard technology since the advent of mechanical switches. This groundbreaking innovation quickly became a fan-favorite and an essential piece of equipment for countless professional gamers. The first generation of Apex Pro TKL garnered widespread acclaim and achieved numerous victories on the global stage, solidifying its reputation among competitive gamers and performance enthusiasts alike. In fact, Pros have won more prize money with SteelSeries than with any other brand.
Building on the legacy as the world's fastest gaming keyboards, the Apex Pro Gen 3 models further evolve SteelSeries' unparalleled intelligence, speed, and durability. Equipped with cutting-edge OmniPoint 3.0 technology and the industry's first Hall Effect Gen 3 sensor, the Apex Pro Gen 3 series provides gamers with an unrivaled competitive advantage. Additionally, armed with a new suite of advanced GG software features including Rapid Tap, Rapid Trigger, and Protection Mode, gamers can utilize GG QuickSet to effortlessly access individual pro-grade profiles for the most played games, continuing the revolution that started it all.

In the world of gaming, victory hinges on speed and precision down to the millisecond. With the launch of OmniPoint 3.0 technology, gamers now have the power to customize their experience with 40 adjustable actuation levels, ranging from an ultra-responsive 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm, and a lightning-fast response time of just 0.54 ms vs 6 ms in standard mechanical keyboards. OmniPoint 3.0 switches are 11x faster than standard mechanical switches, giving players an undeniable edge.

But speed alone isn't enough; smart settings are key to winning. Enter SteelSeries GG QuickSet, a feature that allows gamers to choose from profiles curated by championship-winning pro esports players. This tool optimizes essential SteelSeries features—such as Rapid Trigger, Rapid Tap, actuation levels, lighting, and more—for a streamlined, click-and-play experience. Whether playing on the professional level or as a novice, SteelSeries GG QuickSet empowers gamers to focus on playing the game, not tweaking settings, ensuring that players are always ready to compete at the highest level.

Apex Pro Software Suite:
  • Protection Mode - Say goodbye to accidental "fat-fingering" with Protection Mode, a SteelSeries-exclusive feature. This mode protects against accidental key presses by reducing the sensitivity of selected surrounding keys—never worry about blowing the most important cooldown again.
  • Rapid Tap - Rapid Tap prioritizes the last pressed key in a pair without needing to release the previous key, enabling faster input and improved aim. With up to 5 key pairings, your counter-strafing, peeking, crouch-jumping or slide-cancelling gets more responsive than ever.
  • Rapid Trigger - Discard the limitations of regular actuation. With Rapid Trigger, gamers can repeatedly press the same key without waiting for it to return, at the slightest lift of a finger. No more missing multiple key presses if players ever need to spam a button.
  • GG Quickset - Optimal settings for a player's favorite games are just a few clicks away, making the gaming keyboard setup easier than ever. Gain a competitive edge with pro-grade presets that adjust actuation levels, Rapid Trigger, Protection Mode, Rapid Tap, RGB Lighting, and more on a per-game basis. Skip the complicated setup and get playing
.

In addition to Apex Pro Gen 3 Series keyboards offering gamers the most intelligent software features, and upgrades to lightning-fast speeds, the new Gen 3 line delivers enhanced durability and significant hardware upgrades. These improvements ensure a more consistent and satisfying build quality, including premium switch stabilizers to reduce typing wobble, factory-lubed switches for a smoother feel and "thockier" or "creamy" sound, and dampening foam for more satisfying keypresses. With OmniPoint 3.0 switches, the Apex Pro Gen 3 Series are the first keyboards to utilize the "S-Tier" Hall Effect Sensor Gen 3 technology, setting a new standard for in-game responsiveness with reduced noise, greater precision, and consistent performance.

The Apex Pro Gen 3 Series keyboards are offered in a full size, TKL (tenkeyless), and TKL Wireless. The full-sized Apex Pro keyboard excels as an all-rounder device, while the Apex Pro TKL design gives users more desk space for clutch plays while still being transportable to LAN events, and the Apex Pro TKL Wireless ensures gaming and workspaces look clean and streamlined to hit that minimalism spot, as well as the freedom for gaming and work on the go.

Available at SteelSeries.com and retailers around the world, the Apex Pro Gen 3, Apex Pro TKL Gen 3, and Apex Pro TKL Wireless Gen 3 are available for the following MSRPs:
  • Apex Pro Gen 3 - US $199.99 | EMEA €229.99 | APAC $229.99
  • Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 - US $189.99 | EMEA €219.99 | APAC $219.99

So to summarize:

The gamr toi for da gamr bois/gurls that have mo money than brains....

For those prices, they could have at least implemented an open source software solution like VIA or QMK, instead of the resource-hogging, BSOD-inducing Apex garbaggio, and presented something worthy of consideration.....

Marketing & Engineering conference call:

"Can we utilize VIA or CMK" ?

"Nope, not doin that" since it won't lock users into our platform !

Low quality hater comment.

In all your infinite wisdom, you fail to consider that literally none of the selling points (analog customization, rapid trigger, SOCD, OLED screen) of the keyboard will work with VIA/QMK.

My point exactly.....

Surely they could have collaborated with the folks at VIA/QMK to make it work with their keebs...

But NO...the just HAD to go proprietary on it, which as we all know, limits user choice and allows the mfgr to do whatever they want, and the user has no other options available, which suks wallah :D
