Typical Antwec garbaggio.... nope, not doin that :D
- The top glass is a design decision, somebody is out there who likes this (no, not me - but I can tolerate it). You can get other cases with a similar aquatic design and a mesh ceiling panel from Antec (in the constellation series) or other manufacturers, if you want to.
- IO panels getting rid of the reset button and using it as LED control is pretty typical for RGB-centric glass cases
- You don't need a power LED in a RGB-centric case and build. Pretty sure you will know if the machine runs. And not only Antec follows this philosophy. Concerning the drive activity LED, granted, there is none, but if you are really missing another light, there are multiple RGB-related solutions. Hint: There is a free pin on every motherboard. Install an DYI LED or activity stripe or what you want. Or install a software LED. And again, this is basically design philosophy, most of the new ANTEC constellation cases do not have those. Other manufacturers do not have those. Apple getting rid of most LEDs on their devices is another famous example. So it's not a biggie in 2024. If you want activity LEDs on the case (I like those too, to be honest), simply buy another case. But it's brand philosophy, not stupidity.
Those decisions follow some brand identity or series identity. So when you said stupid, I just thought, "Oh, I've seen that on a lot of other cases too and I feel like I know why they did it."In my opinion, most cases aren't stupid, they're just made different for different people.
However, I will make an exception concerning stupidity - I think.:) This is what i saw today, the new Geometric Future Model 5 case with the PSU in the front. I do think this one isn't particularly cleverly made. Especially the version that has a solid plate for a decorative figure that lays on top of the GPU. Willingly by design, to add, to partition air from the the only side intake directly to the GPU. Leaving the back fan and the AIO fans in the ceiling without a real job. And all this to present the PSU chamber and a decorative figure to the glass front. Imho that is one funny case:
But even then, maybe stupid is too harsh a word. If you want a decorative figure and only good GPU Temps (presumably), this is your case ;)
This new Antec is useless except for basic PC configurations...
This case is clearly designed for people who love to turn their case into a light show
