Keychron Shows K2 HE 75% Layout Fully Customizable Keyboard With Magnetic Switches at CES 2025

Keychron brought its full lineup of keyboards to the CES 2025 show, but the star of the show is definitely the new Keychron K2 HE which uses Gateron magnetic switches. The Keychron K2 HE is a fully customizable 75% layout wireless keyboard combining metal and wood frame and double-shot PBT keycaps. The keyboard also comes with a custom wood siding, which is available in light and dark finishes and can be personalized with laser-engraved design or text of your choice directly from Keychron's website.

The Keychron K2 HE is not all about the looks though, as the key feature of this keyboard are pre-lubed Gateron double-rail magnetic switches. These linear switches not only offer fast response time and precise control, but also allow adjustable actuation point with 0.2 mm to 3.8 mm actuation range. As they use pressure-sensitive hall effect sensors to detect a keypresses it is possible to set the depth of the actuation with 0.1 mm precision.
The rest of the specifications include Arm Cortex-M4 32-bit (256 KB Flash) MCU, 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 5.2, or USB Type-C wired connectivity, 4,00mAh battery, 1000 Hz pooling rate over wired and 2.4 GHz connection and 125 Hz over Bluetooth, Rapid Trigger feature, RGB backlight, three position angle adjustment and screw-in PCB stabilizers, QMK Firmware and Web Configurator Launcher, and more.

The Keychron K2 HE comes in standard and special edition versions, where standard version uses Cherry profile PBT keycaps with aluminium frames, while the special edition comes with natural rosewood accents, lilght wood for the white version and dark wood the black version, as well as OSA profile PBT keycaps with aluminium and wooden frames.

The Keychron K2 HE was a part of the Kickstarter campaign which has ended, but it should be soon available directly from Keychron's website priced at $130 for the Standard Version and $140 for the Special Edition.

Even the Special Edition one? I know the Standard Version was available before, but I am not sure about the Special Edition one.

Ah you mean the one with the wooden trim? I'm not too sure about that one but I did see it on their website around the same timeframe I was researching about the K2 HE 75%. I can't recall if that particular version was released or it was a super limited sale or such at the time.

It matches my Wooting 60HE+ in terms of overall performance. Rapid trigger is great and I still get randomly kicked out of CS2 matches LOL

I've got standard actuation set at 2.0mm and Rapid Trigger activation set at 0.4mm for A and D only.

Good to know! A hall effect 75% is kind of my dream keyboard so I'll check it out. Thanks!

If you're here in the US and have a Best Buy nearby, you can purchase it and try it out to see if you like it. They usually have a 15-day return window in most states.
