Battlefield 2 Demo is out!
After some speculation whether it will be released today or not, EA has finally put up the BF2 Demo.
The demo includes the Gulf of Oman single player map as well as the Gulf of Oman 16-player and 32-player maps. There is a time limit for each game.
Right now, finding a server which can server the 560 Megabyte Demo with decent speed is a bit of a problem. The official download sites and its mirrors are getting swamped.

I got XP Pro
NVIDIO Gforce 4 4200
You need Nvidia forceware drivers.
You can get those here-
www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_71.89.html
I went there. Can you direct me on how to download the right thing? Thanks
I was under the impression that the entire GF4 series was unsupported, and that id have to shell out on a new card if i wanted a go (anoying, Doom3 and Halflife 2 worked fine).
So Nvidio wont work with BF2

hey ive been having this problem where when i try and play bf2 demo it goes all black then comes back to my desktop...ive been reading what u said to do and under my display thing it says "plug and play moniter on intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller"....it doesnt say anything about an NVIDIA or ATI so what do i do?
ok i updated my video card but not my sound card yet and it still does that black screen thing...do i have to get a new computer er what?
Check if your motherboard has an AGP slot, it's one of the things you use to connect cards to your PC, this one should be brown, if your PC has one of those, then you need to buy a new video card (be prepared with at least $150 bucks).
If your PC doesn't have an AGP slot, then my friend, you should think about getting a new PC, or, if you're on a tight budget, save your pennies for an Xbox360 and a copy of a console version of BF2. Good luck.
I've updated all the drivers, increased my swap file and defragged all my HDDs, ingame performance is slightly improved for the precious few minutes it works. I did have a huge heat build up, but I cured it using an ATI Silencer 5 rev2.
specs for my rig are in my sig.
HELP, since the game has gone gold I expect I'm gonna see this problem in the full game when it arrives

yes i tried that pixel shader thingy and i think that i will need a new computer but idk...i have all of the other battlefield games and they work fine and i dont see why the new one goes to a black screen then back to my desktop
yea i guess..well ive been tryin that pixel thing and it aint workin and its really getting annoying cuz this game looks fun as hell and i dont wanna buy a new comp, do u have any other suggestions on anything that would work like that tatniumD3D?
yea i try the tantiumD3D and either i get an error message and it goes back to desktop or it will just go black then go back to desktop without having an error message er anythin
I am re-downloading it right know. I hope that works. I am getting it from a different site. Who knows, maybe the site I got it from first had a bug?
I just spent 2 hours re-downloading BF2 and it still has the loading problem with the black screen going to desktop! What know?
yea ive re-downloaded it a few times...at first i downloaded it from many different websites and when i got it the setup didnt even start so i waited until xfire.com had it and i downloaded it off xfire
