Microsoft Starts Shipping 65nm Xbox 360 Consoles
Microsoft's new 65nm 'Falcon' processor for the Xbox 360 has been rumoured for some time now, but now it seems that Microsoft may finally have begun shipping consoles which use the new CPU. Posters on the official Xbox forums have spotted that the special edition Halo 3 consoles from lot number 734 onwards appear to have the 65nm processor, which will hopefully mean the standard Xbox consoles could start being shipped with it in the near future. With any luck, this will see an end to Microsoft's less than impressive failure rate for Xbox 360 consoles, where heat issues have been a common suspect in the so called "red ring of death". If you've just bought an Xbox 360 and want to find out if your new console is equipped with a Falcon CPU, take a look here.

Anyway, this is the most reliable confirmation I've found so I thought I'd post it.

My first one died due to a DVDROM malfunction. Ive been dabbling with 360s for ages now and Ive seen many die for different reasons lol
But anyways, the GPU does heat up quite a bit, but not so much that it will fry or anything of that sort. But that was not the main reason as to why the RROD would show up on XBox 360s. There is a clamp on the Xbox 360s that holds the heatsink of the GPU and CPU over the motherboard. The problem is that the clamp is made from soft metal, and so when the Xbox 360 does heat up, the clamp is not strong enough to prevent the motherboard from bending due to the heat, therefore it could cause a hardware failure if the motherboard bends enough. If you turn on and Xbox 360 and the PSU light is green, that means there's a hardware failure; games could freeze, RROD showing up. A new clamp would fix the problem easily, which is why there are some DIY Clamp Kits around, but not everyone wants to open up their 360 and void the warranty.
It is a good thing that Microsoft increased the warranty to 3 years, and that they are including better heatsinks, stronger clamps, better DVD ROMS, and 65nm CPUs to prevent RROD and other related problems. All of these contribute greatly to reducing the RROD.
computers, electronics in mass production usually have problems it's all the same you send it back or take it back at least microsoft told you there product is faulty and they gave you 3yrs warranty. You want to play the best games in the world than that is the price you pay. Stop crying about loud machines new cpu's, gpu's thats what you bought! There in this game to make money and to keep on making money. And you guys keep it that way!
