Joost Internet TV Service Launched

Created by the founders of Skype and Kazaa, a free internet TV service known as Joost has just been launched after first being announced nine months ago. Joost allows users to choose from a selection of different shows and channels on their PCs, which are supported by advertising in similar to normal way TV commercials. In a blog, Joost said:
For us at Joost, we are exhausted, but excited. Many of us have put as much as two years of our lives into this little 'project,' and owe a great deal to our families for supporting us, to our friends for not ignoring us, and to all the beta testers who cheered us on and helped with ideas, feedback and lots of bug reporting.
Joost 1.0, which can be downloaded here for both Windows and Mac, is still in the beta stages, but from a quick look it seems fairly stable and is worth a try if you want to watch TV on your PC but don't have the necessary hardware.

I've been beta testing Joost since before the invites were available, and let me say this.. this will replace conventional television one day. Very well put together program, worth a try for any of you guys.

I just downloaded. I really like it, but I prefer to have it behave like a normal program when you try to window it. Other than that, I'm actually impressed. This is the first internet TV program that I've ever liked. I'm keeping it. lol.

Same here, and even then it was working very well, I would only sometimes not be able to watch something and I am running Vista. Very little advertising and preaty goody stream of the media content as well A+!

I've been beta testing joost for awhile now and must agree with the rest. My only problem with it is the resolution but I still like watching it.

Well they have Adult Swim, and as far as I am concerned thats the only channel I need. You must be located in the States though to get it, in other word Europe can't watch Adult Swim through Joost. Just letting those certain people know that you can only watch certain channels in certain parts of the word.

No, it's cartoons with adult humor, or violence, etc. Like certain Anime, and shows like Futurama and Family Guy.

It does have some bugs, but it's still working here. Perhaps you need to reboot?

I joined the beta a couple weeks ago, and it was pretty cool! It's convenient when compared to searching for vids online.

con: i was expecting this to be live tv, and not a bunch of recorded videos, which is not bad, but live tv would've been good.

Because CBS is not normal? WTF?

Besides that all Viacom owned channels are either on Joost or coming soon, this includes allot of cable channels. (i.e. Comedy central, VH1, MTV, and etc...)
