If you fancy yourself as something of a Halo 3 champion, then this might be just the thing for you. The Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) is running a Halo 3 competition from December 18th to December 22nd this year with a top prize of $1,000,000. The competition is open to all ages and requires no previous tournament experience - the downside is that it requires a fee of $275 to enter. If you're still interested then registration is now open, with the tournament being hosted in Dallas, Texas. For more details check out this site.

$275 is quite greedy, $10 - 20 per entry would no doubt attract far greater participation and possibly more revenue.

I for one never liked halo anyway. on the odd occasion I would play it on the Xbox/xbox360 arund my m8s but I had a hard time getting use to xbox controls for FPS's. I felt like I was trying to fly with 1 hand tied behind my back. I still cant play xbox very well. everybody tried to get me into gears of war but as i couldnt manage the controls i couldnt be arsed. but i dont care anyway. who needs dual analogue controls when you can have a full qwerty keyboard & 2000DPi gaming grade wireless mouse? its like a breath of fresh air

LMFAO!!!! $275 just to register for a competition. Its gonna cost way more for alot of ppl to get there and for a room too. Sorry but thats not worth getting PWND by ppl that play Halo all day is just not worth it even for a chance at 1 million smackaroos!

well I guess mr wendel will be there, 1mil is quite an attractive prize for one with his record, as for the average joes, 275$ is wayy too much, that's a couple games and a hardware upgrade.

Wendel isn't a noob. He doesn't play noob-ass games like Halo.

he's not a noob, he's a guy who likes money hence the fatality branded mobos from abit, gpus, etc. 1 mil is enough to attract him there, and as for it being a noob game, wouldn't that make his winning all the easier?
