Wii Laser Sword Answers Call of Star Wars Fans Everywhere

Ever since the Nintendo Wii first found itself in retail channels, customers have begged for light-saber support. Finally, Nintendo is answering their call with a Wii Laser Sword. While the Wii Light Sword fits in perfectly with games such as Lego Star Wars, the Wii Light Sword is no more than a standard Wii remote with a 22" LED sword. Hence, a user could theoretically bring his light-saber to any Wii game, including Wii Sports. The sword will be available on November 30 for £15 (€22/$30).

Just in case zeks comment wasnt clear, NO, it is not a standard remote.

It is a piece of plastic, with batteries and LEDs. You STICK YOUR EXISTING REMOTE inside the holder.

Alternatively, attach your remote to a torch with rubber bands. Same principle. More useful... you can play outside in the night.

LOL, it looks cool. But it still proves to me that the Wii is just a 'gimmick' console (I think thats why I sold mine.....it was fun for about 30 minutes lol)

Yeah, it can be called "gimmick console" because of the fact that its coming out with a new type of extra everyday. But, I believe that Nintendo just wanted to make something that will be enjoyed time and time again. Ever seen a 60 year old guy try and bowl on the Wii? It's the funniest thing ever!

The wii is just more just fun with friends. Iv'e shared many a drunken night with my housemates and mates playing wii sports and screaming at the the TV, sure it does kinda suck if your playing buy yourself but with multiple people it owns.

You'd turn off the lights in the house, and all that they would see is two sabers moving back and forth! I love Nintendo.. They seem to all ways bring back the good memories! :rockout:

They ONLY reason I will ever buy a Wii is if they actually come out with a Star Wars game that has FULL combat support and make it work. As it stands, that remote is pointless.
