ECS Offers GeForce 8800GT Dual Turbo With Arctic Cooling S1

Elitegroup Computer Systems or Elitegroup for short released today its latest GeForce 8800GT Dual Turbo graphics card. Compared to other NVIDIA 8800GT competitors, ECS N8800GT Dual Turbo version adopts Arctic Cooling's S1 heatsink. S1 has increased surface of heat dissipation around thirty times larger than the stock GeForce 8800GT cooling, which makes the cooler extremely efficient. Furthermore, ECS 8800GT Dual Turbo Version Graphics Card is equipped with two high performance low-noise fans. According to ECS, this type of cooling lowers the operating temps under load vastly, from 91°C for the regular cooling down to 64°C for the AC S1 GeForce 8800GT Dual Turbo. Temps are measured while running 3DMark05.

Firstly.....holy mother of arktic cooling!

that has to literally take up 2&1/2 PCI slots that is huge, its a great idea as the cooling on it is amazing. but its a shame they couldnt of just had a dual slot old style DHES cooler on it (the same coolers like on the EVGA KO's) & blast the hot air out the case but good move tho

Looks like something you'd throw together in your basement. They could have put at least TWO more hours into design.

Really, for something this awful looking, temps should be BELOW 60C..... You should be able to accomplish that with 4 heat pipes, you'd think. I guess 64c isn't that bad considering the cards these days.

I wish they would make Graphics cards socket-based, instead of card based. Think about it, SocketN for Nvidia.... And you can fit an ocz vendetta on your GPU then :D because they would make it the same size as a socket 775, with the same whole pattern. And theres a seperate DIMM slot for VRAM upgrades.... Kinda a nice idea...

crap. bring back the 2 slot out blowing cooler design like the HIS IceQ cooling. They too use the cooler from AC. My 1950pro has 2 heatpipes and it never goes more than 52C under load (gaming for 3 hrs)

May be this sucker will run around 60's under load with that type of cooling.

ok, it takes up many slots, yet it still leaves all the hot air in your case.
nicely done...

Wow, my 8800gt tops out @70C max playing Crysis for an hour. I really can't imagine what makes some of these cards so hot.

Those fans are ultra quiet. I emailed them about how much size it takes up and was told roughly 1/2 a pci slot size, so the cooler takes up ~1.5 slots. If you have widely spaced Pci-e slots it would fit sli, but no way could I use those fans on that cooler with my old 1900 x-fire. The cooler nearly touched the bottom card.

it will fit sli with the turbo pack temps and never go over 44c even oced. I have both the turbo pack and a 120 fan you have to buy a longer sli bridge from arctic cooler but it not costly
