Equipped with the fastest DRR3 0.8ns memory modules, the EAH3870X2 TOP provides peak performance with GPU memory clock boosts of 6%; while both the EAH3870X2 TOP/G/3DHTI/1G and EAH3870X2/G/3DHTI/1G utilize specially designed dual fansinks for efficient heat dissipation compared to reference designed single fansink solutions. The EAH3870X2 TOP/G/3DHTI/1G also comes exclusively with two extra DVI outputs for a maximum of four-display video output; as well as the hottest DX10 game: Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts.6% Memory Clock Upgrades
To provide gamers with the best overclocking experience, the EAH3870X2 TOP is equipped with the fastest DDR3 0.8ns memory modules, and harnesses these high speed memory capabilities for the best overclocking capabilities. As a result, the GPU core and memory clock performances can be boosted from 825MHz up to 851MHz and from 900MHz up to 954MHz respectively - an astonishing 3% and 6% improvement in speed when compared to reference designed boards. With such powerful performance, gamers can truly enjoy superb gaming with the ASUS EAH3870X2 TOP/G/3DHTI/1G.
Exclusively Designed Hardware
The EAH3870X2 TOP/G/3DHTI/1G is also exclusively equipped with two extra DVI outputs for a maximum of four-display video outputs. Additionally, the EAH3870X2 TOP/G/3DHTI/1G utilizes specially designed dual fansinks that effectively dissipate heat away from both GPUs - enabling much more stable performances in comparison to reference designed single fansinks.
World Exclusive Hottest DX10 Game Bundle - Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts
Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts is the next installment in the highest-rated strategy franchise that delivers an unprecedented level of realism and reveals a darker, more brutal war. With enhanced lighting effects, mission persistence, improved vehicle and soldier AI, enhanced physics and a dynamic weather system, this game will set new standards in visual realism for the RTS franchise. With the powerful performance of the ASUS EAH3870X2 TOP, gamers will be able to enjoy the full graphical spectacle that the game can offer.
Unprecedented Rock Solid Quality from ASUS
In line with the Rock Solid promise of high quality from ASUS, the EAH3870X2 TOP comes with several solutions to provide top quality graphic performance. With the EMI shield, 3~10dB EMI Interference can be reduced to provide stable signal. The temperature of the newly adopted DIP Spring Chokes is 5~10oC lower in comparison to traditional Toroidal Coil Chokes; while the Japan-made polymer capacitors lowers power loss to provide more stable quality. Therefore, users will be able to enjoy extreme performance and feel secure with uncompromising quality only with ASUS EAH3870X2 TOP.

In regards to this card, this doesn't have a expansion slot vent and instead goes ahead with four DVI ports which is a no-brainer, they could have had two dual-link DVI ports instead. Maybe they're using the four ports as a USP. Could have issues with ventilation despite two fans.
But damn, 0.8ns RAM, that is very nice. Though 0.8ns RAM should be capable of a lot more than 945MHz, you can get that out of 1.0ns RAM.
Still, though, it'd be nice to see ASUS throw some DDR4 on that beast. I think these cards still have a lot more potential than we've seen so far.
but I believe that 6% can I do with my 3870 x2
Also if all see there is not one card model 3870x2 from gigabyte, so gigabyte ... is working on.... :D
We shall see if the RV670s will need this amount of mem throughput.
Don't care about the heatsink as this kind of performance NEEDS watercooling anyways.
Then when the PCIe v2.0 bridge comes out... [RMA!? :D]
Ooops, I didn't say that...
Picked up 2 of them. One thing is for sure, like the x1950xtx's i had, you cant Fu** with the standard fan cooling!
If i required the extra DVI ports, then i can justify the need for the TOP edition, but i dont even have the room for 8 x 22" Widescreens!
After running a few benchmarks of various sorts, i found that i could overclock the standard card without any issues well beyond the 6% mark. I also found that the TOP edition, even with the two fans had higher temperatures due to its really inefficient cooling design.
The standard Asus 3870x2 fan blows the air across the card, and releases the hot air via the back of the card thru the grill.
The TOP edition causes hot air to get trapped inside the card.
They will not be making anything for the 3870x2. The 4870x2 is just around the corner.
Will be interesting to see if Nvidia will introduce the ported PhysX ability into G80+ cards.
