Atari's Alone in the Dark Delayed Again

Atari has confirmed to Shacknews that Eden Games' Alone in the Dark has been delayed again, pushing the reimagining of the classic survival horror franchise back to a June 20 release. Alone in the Dark had been previously slated for a May release, which itself was a result of a delay from a March release window. Publisher Atari said that the delay was enacted to "allow the development team at Eden Games to polish the game to an even higher standard and deliver the best possible experience to gamers." The delay applies to the PS2, Xbox 360, Wii, and PC versions of the title, with the PlayStation 3 version of Alone in the Dark due out late this year.

You know i hope they polish the game more than releasing it buggy. I rather wait a little bit more than have a game that doesnt run well.

Judging by Test Drive Unlimited we PC gamers get shit on. And we continue to take it.

I'm betting on pressure from Sony for these delays. Probably want it released closer to the PS3 date so they don't get killed in unit sales even more.

This is good! I don't think companies should make timelines for games public anyways, just say it's "in the works" or whatever. Buggy games have become an epidemic in recent years.

Is this the same as the PSX/PS2 game that was made into a movie or is it something entirely different?

The game so far is amazing and the sheer interactiveness in the game is interesting to see also.

if it is anything like the PS1 game that came out years ago, it should be very good. The fact that they are delaying it is a good sign that they aren't just rushing it out the door only to have to bombard us with patches.
