80 PLUS Certified and Highly Efficient
While most computer power supplies pinnacle at 80% efficiency, the BFG ES Series is typically 80% to 85% efficient, which means more power drawn from the outlet is converted to DC power for your computer than many of the other units on the market. In order to achieve certification, the 80 PLUS performance specification requires power supplies in computers and servers to be 80% or greater energy efficient at 20%, 50% and 100% of rated load with a true power factor of 0.9 or greater.
Frequency Conversion Technology
The ES-800 can modulate its operating frequency and emulate a smaller PSU as needed. So while most power supplies are not very efficient at loads less than 20% of their total capability, the ES-800 is 80% efficient at loads as low as 10%.

Personally, it's all about efficiency. Less heat from wasted electricity means I won't be sweating as much after I play Crysis for an hour.
You don't "lose amperage somehow". Not sure who's FUD you're trying to recite, but most split +12V rail PSU's have only one source. This source is then split into multiple +12V outputs. The more +12V rails you have actually reduces the likelihood of any kind of "trapped power" scenario and if you look at the label on this thing, the OCP (over current protection, aka "current limiters") are set to about doube what the connectors on each rail are supposed to support. w1zzard has one on the way. Ok...

And for the record, I didn't doubt that somebody could meet or beat Corsair, I was just stating that all reps try to make you believe their product is superior, whether it is or isn't. That's their job.
