Crysis Warhead is Coming to Steam
Crytek and Valve today announced an agreement to bring Crysis Warhead and Crysis to Steam, a leading platform for the delivery and management of PC games and digital content with over 15 million accounts around the world.
"The millions of gamers logging into Steam every week to play today's best PC games are going to love Crysis Warhead," said Avni Yerli, Managing Director at Crytek. "Crytek Hungary has done a terrific job creating this new experience while optimizing CryEngine 2, and we're looking forward to delivering it and the original Crysis as our first offerings on Steam."
"Crytek is one of the industry's great success stories, emerging new technology and talent," said Gabe Newell, president and co-founder of Valve. "Crysis is one of today's leading PC franchises and delivering the original and Crysis Warhead via Steam is landmark for the platform."
The follow up to Crysis, one of the highest rated PC games of last year, Crysis Warhead will take players through the parallel story of Sergeant Michael 'Psycho' Sykes as he embarks on an intense, explosive adventure on the other side of the island. With waves of more challenging human and alien enemies to navigate through, players will once again be outfitted with the revolutionary Nanosuit and an arsenal of new weapons and vehicles to help Psycho complete his critical mission.Crysis Warhead will also come with Crysis Wars, a tailor-made experience for multiplayer gamers, featuring three diverse match types and 21 maps.
Crysis Warhead and Crysis will be available for pre-purchase via Steam starting this weekend, and expected to be released in mid September. Both games are published by EA Partners. For more details, please visit Steam Games and Crysis Warhead website.

and i thought THX for that your just trying to drop support for YOUR crap :mad:
i bought that game and i won't buy it again just because of their faultty copyprotection.
this time they choosed steam to get everyone to pay before gaming, and if its crap your :banghead:
Steam sucks for the following reasons;
1. Download a whole game ? <--< You guys are not normal or Americans without bandwith limits. Once you have to download the game the second time, i consider you a waste of bandwith and probably one of the many variables countries such as mine have had bandwith restrictions since day 1.
2. Something happens to your account and its all over.
3. Breaching the privacy of the individual and the freedom to play whenever he/she wants without the consent or knowledge of some 3rd party company.
Ill like to point out wolf2009 that even Pirates pay for originals when they come across something they like. Its noones fault except Crytek's that Crysis was a shit game, and it Multiplayer was a rip off of the older Unreal Tournaments. If MP looked like SP then maybe they would not have failed as much.
Ive already been assured that the sequal will be just as shit. <--< Having negative expectations might result in me paying more interest this time around, because looking back at all the things Crytek promised and what they actually delivered was a major let down.
Hope they pull some serious fibers to Australia some day, so that you would get unlimited download too. And in future they come up with a way to lower ping, so I can play with Aussies too online :)
if you download steam games more than once, i'd have to think something is definately wrong with you. You can simply copy the files, or use the feature steam has had for years and back them up to DVD.
As for Warhead sucking, it may, it may not. I take SOME reviews with a gain of salt. I think Crytek was rushed into releasing Crysis to coincide with Vista/DX10 ASAP. Thats my personal view on Crysis. Warhead IMO will be exactly what Crysis should have been. An awesome game.
