Microsoft Launches Clothing Line, Called Softwear

The following news story is not as much hardware related as our site usually does, but it is funny enough to make your whole week better and even good enough to provide with clothing some of you. Microsoft, the monopolist in software industry, has announced a new line of clothing, in partnership with rapper Common, called Softwear. I'm not joking, now you can be 101% original by wearing Microsoft clothes. It's Microsoft's turn to set the trend in clothing;
"This collection inspired and created by Common exhibits the parallels between two groundbreaking movements of the 80s: personal computing and hip-hop. Microsoft, and Common, pioneers of their respective crafts, pushed the envelope of what was expected and even what was accepted. Through lyrical expressions and enabling connectivity, the world was changed. That's something worth celebrating."
The first shirts will be sold via Urban Outfitters, with more products being sold at specialty stores in New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Atlanta. Take a look at the Softwear official site.

No you probably look geeky enough ;)

Its kinda funny, if ppl on this board that thinks this is stupid or "geeky" really understand that Microsoft isnt the company thats designing the clothing line. They're pretty much licensing out their name to be used in 80's hip-hop themed clothing thats designed by Common (which Im a bit doubtful many would know who he is).

Generally speaking (I may sound like a self hater but) not alot of tech guys, computer nerds, or "geeks" really have much fashion sense. They wouldnt put much thought or effort on how they look or what colors look good on them or even if they match.
When I posted about sneakers i got all this flack that its gay or lame.

I grew up in the 80s and can relate to some of the designs and would rock em. Especially the one shirt of Bill Gates from the 80s

Fantastic!!!

FANTASTIC!!!

We are all talking about it.

The designs are retro-cool.

We might not want to wear them personally - but that's not the point

GREAT MARKETING - a rare occasion indeed!

Love it! Top job! Give that PR person a raise!

The whole concept of "fashion" is rather retarded in the first place. The average thing that's considered fashion tends to look horrible. The average teen girl looks like a complete idiots for instance. They wear dead animals wrapped around their feet.

I've never paid for Microsoft's software and I won't start with their softwear. If it looks decent I'll just wait until there are cheap Chinese imitations. It'll make me feel like I'm downloading it for free.

what of course people wear dead animals around thier feet its called leather and its made from cow hide

fashion is a social thing aint it im not in a social grouping i find them stupid i mean just coz its the trend dosnt make it right or cool, i mean just coz people find it acceptable or the norm dosnt mean it actually should be like racism in the 40s and 50s was acceptable now its prety much detestable for most people

Nah, I'll use Bill's software and continue to dress like Steve. Besides, they don't say how long you have rights to the clothes or if they can be worn by someone else. ;)
