The AMD Opteron X2170 is a server/workstation processor with 4 cores, launched in September 2016. It is part of the Opteron lineup, using the X-Series architecture with Socket FT3. Opteron X2170 has 2 MB of L2 cache and operates at 2.4 GHz. AMD is building the Opteron X2170 on a 28 nm production process, the transistor count is unknown. The multiplier is locked on Opteron X2170, which limits its overclocking capabilities. With a TDP of 25 W, the Opteron X2170 consumes only little energy. AMD's processor supports DDR3 memory. This processor features the Radeon R5E integrated graphics solution. Hardware virtualization is available on the Opteron X2170, which greatly improves virtual machine performance. Programs using Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) will run on this processor, boosting performance for calculation-heavy applications.
