The AMD Opteron A1150 was a server/workstation processor with 8 cores, launched in January 2016. It is part of the Opteron lineup, using the Seattle architecture with Socket SP1. Opteron A1150 has 8 MB of L3 cache and operates at 1700 MHz. AMD is building the Opteron A1150 on a 28 nm production process, the transistor count is unknown. The silicon die of the chip is not fabricated at AMD, but at the foundry of GlobalFoundries. The multiplier is locked on Opteron A1150, which limits its overclocking capabilities. With a TDP of 32 W, the Opteron A1150 consumes only little energy. AMD's processor supports DDR3 and DDR4 memory with a dual-channel interface. The highest officially supported memory speed is 1866 MT/s, but with overclocking (and the right memory modules) you can go even higher. ECC memory is supported, too, which is an important capability for mission-critical systems, to avoid data corruption. For communication with other components in the computer, Opteron A1150 uses a PCI-Express Gen 3 connection. This processor lacks integrated graphics, you might need a graphics card. A lot of games will not work on this processor, because they require the SSE instruction set, which is not supported.
