Uninstall Method

To begin with, congratulations for your forum and your support!! The SLi mod is so awesome!!!:respect:
Ten days ago, I have sucessfuly activated an 8600GT SLi on my ASUS P5E3. It was rock-stable and scaled very well... Today I uninstalled the second card and boot with only one card. Since then I can't stop having BSOD at the very beggining of "Starting Windows".
(Saying that my BIOS is not fully ACPI compatible)

I thought that it could be the modded hal.dll. I replaced with the backup one, I turned off testsign, deleted the SLIC certificate, nothing happened. When I tried one of my 4870, I also got the very same BSOD...

However, I can boot to windows using 2 cards!!!(either the nvidia ones, or the ati ones)... Could you please guide me on how to eliminate this glitch???

I had the same issue once, Tony. I resolved it by reinstalling the second card, booting into Windows, and turning off SLI before shutting down. That's all it took for me, next boot with single card Windows started fine.

I can confirm that windows 7 32bit didn't work and that XP 32bit also didn't. Windows 7 64bit worked great and not 1 problem. I never tried XP 64bit it was my next OS to try if 7 64bit didn't work

you may reread the text, he never even modded 1 file for xp64 bit. ;)
the only SLI hack- usable OS´es seem to be
Vista 64 and Windows7 64:)

i think that XP 64 still could be possible if someone has the skills to mod the files them self based on the ones that he modded

i don't see any sense to make for rest of OS's because we haven't finished the patch completely

nearly no one uses 64bit.even now.
I dont see any sense in doing this hack, and leaving win32bit...out?

if it wont work on other Oses, why did you wrote a manual for that? isnt that pretty pointless?
i wasted over 20 hours of my lifetime, trying to get it to run -.-
thanks for that.

at least your 64bit mod,now works like a charm.

please remove the xp files on you site, so no one wastes his time anymore.that would be very kind.:D
if the project is finished maybe, one day you can reup them....
if they arent bugged, i will be very pleased to test them.;)

I got Win XP 32bit to work SLI.
It was the 1st OS to have SLI working with hacks.
But that could have a lot to do with the hardware used
& the knowledge of the person trying to get it working. ;-)
Some are so ungrateful, its a wonder anyone would help them.
With statements like that they might quit the project all together.
STFU!

The link for xp drivers is on the previous page and in the how to. I had difficulties to activate SLI but by reading this topic since the beginning; things clarified.

So that would be really sad to end this interesting project because of some awkward persons.

as i said, i dont got the dsdt tables to work, neither did i modded the bios.
in fact, im not knowing enough, to do this kind of mods.
BUT:
I wasnt ungrateful, in fact i thanked him for his 64 bit versions.;)
i would have only appreciated, if the Warning in the First thread didnt stated:
**NOTE: THESE DRIVERS DON'T WORK. THEY WERE AN UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT. THREAD ONLY PRESERVED FOR ARCHIVE PURPROSES**
but:
**NOTE: THESE DRIVERS ONLY WORK ON CERTAIN HARDWARE,AND MOSTLY ON 64BIT.32BIT MAY NEED EDIT OF BIOS OR DSDT TABLES.
DRIVERS WERE A SEMI-SUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT, AND ARENT READY YET. THREAD IS UPDATED RANDOMLY**
because then, i would have started my work with the more easier to do 64 bit mods.

i trashed a few OSes, and found out, there is only one Hal.dll, that will work at least for displaying X58 in CPU-z. that also isnt stated anywhere like
CAUTION.THE VISTA/WIN7 DLL IS DOUBLE THE SIZE OF THE WIN XP, AND WILL DESTROY YOUR WINDOWS.BE CAREFUL WHICH HAL YOU CHOOSE

i NEVER said that he should quit, or that his works sucks in anyway!
i just said that this VERY USEFUL mod was brilliant, but the Manual is SO chaotic, like it was just thrown together quick, that its very DIFFICULT and a little DANGEROUS, to perform the MOD based on this Information.
if the Manual was in better condition and would explain more, i wouldnt have wasted most of my weekend, trying to get something to run, that i probably never will get to run.
that just pissed me a little, sorry if my writing was a little harsh, but i just was so enraged, that such an important mod, is halfway forgotten. sorry about that. I just wanted that no one has to do the same oddysee too. if it ran for you, he may just add a warning, that people should try different oses, for their hardware, because different setups, need different methods. at least, as the mod is not fully developed.
regarding the actual mod, im very happy, now that everything runs.i had luck!
in the end it was POS, who found out, that for our 790gx boards,
only Vista and Win7 x64 work. 32 bit oses wont work, and xp64 isnt supported from what i have read.
also please, dont answer a pissed post with
ShutTheFuckUp!
it doenst makes you much better, does it?
also you stated: "if you arent as smart as me, let it be,and shut up, because it will otherwise never work for you", that is the essence i can read from that for me.
okaaayy... whatever you say.i can say: other people dont like you more, if you do this to them :slap: instead of making a proper point + additional intelligent conversation.:)
"STFU" just doenst make me feel something beyond "lol".;)

i hope you dont work out a hard feeling here, i never wanted to start a fight.:toast:

SLI on pre i7/i5 chipsets that aren't certified for SLI. AKA: AMD and Intel.

some people are just assholes.(i for one am one)
Now whats the chance that 2 completely different people both running 790gx and 2 8800GT's couldn't get SLI to work in XP 32bit? Are you saying that we are just stupid? how about you STFU!:D

but on a nicer note. Thanks to the person working on the project it saved alot of money for me and it works great with my hardware under Windows 7 64bit

this is true germans do sound aggressive alot of the time. but velvet seems to be one of the nicest germans :)
my own people hate me, thats for sure;)

Well that, or excessively gay. lol
you mean the dutch. we only have excessive amounts of brutal young arabians,
turks,east europeans. Kanaken.
very ennerving, and they are like Ants, regarding their number.

i do have German in my blood maybe that is my source of my aggression (SP?)
were the unfriendly, picky, whiny ones, the russian are the brutal, regarding the clichee, and partly also the reality;)
also, most Germans are stubborn as Titanium plating  in positive things most time, sadly.

nearly no one uses 64bit.even now.
I dont see any sense in doing this hack, and leaving win32bit...out?

if it wont work on other Oses, why did you wrote a manual for that? isnt that pretty pointless?
i wasted over 20 hours of my lifetime, trying to get it to run -.-
thanks for that.

at least your 64bit mod,now works like a charm.

please remove the xp files on you site, so no one wastes his time anymore.that would be very kind.:D
if the project is finished maybe, one day you can reup them....
if they arent bugged, i will be very pleased to test them.;)

i only made my patch and nothing else. site doesnt belong to me. i want to make patch for ever. therefore when i'll make it i'll make for rest of OS

See it was you own problem "a hardware problem"
Had you read the thread like the rest of us & was more clear about hardware being used
I'm sure you could have found the answer & not wasted your time & vend about it.
Had I seen a post about 790 I could have pointed you back to were it was already talked about & worked threw.
