Is there is any maths formula to find pixel fillrate:cry:

ROPS x Clockspeed.

GTX480, 48 x 701 = 33.6 G/Pixels
HD5870, 32 x 850 = 27.2 G/Pixels

Fake. That is GPU-Z 0.4.4 which doesn't have support for 6800 series. If it was correct, Cayman wouldn't be in there, it would be a number ID.

i think you are blind.where did you saw gpu-z 0.4.4.In the gpuz shot it has been blocked

Nope. There are other ways to tell. It's very easy, the Powercolor Givaway gives it away. It could be 0.4.5 too though but neither one would list Cayman, only an ID number. Nice job otherwise though. :)

if Pix. fillrate=rops*clockspeed then

CAYMAN PRO SHOULD HAVE
PIX FILLRATE=34.2 G/PIXELS
CLOCK SPEED=725MHZ (RUMOUR)

THEN IT END SHOULD END NEAR ABOUT GTX 480

Barts XT is going to have close to a 5870's memory bandwidth, and more pixel fillrate too, according to the slide.

will be interesting to compare the performance given the sp redesign but lower count.

AMD CAYMANXT SPECS
SHADERS:480*4
ROPS:48
BUS:256BIT
BANDWIDTH:204.8GBPS

that was been photoshoped. i would doubt it's existent as it won't be 256bit but with 48rops.....simply fanboi edition.
cayman is not going to be 48rops that build on only 256 bit bus. the ring bus architecture will not allow this happen. eiter will be 32 rops or 384bit bit. but most likely will be on 512bit bus and 64 rops

Fake. That is GPU-Z 0.4.4 which doesn't have support for 6800 series. If it was correct, Cayman wouldn't be in there, it would be a number ID.

agree with you in first time ever in my life...AMD WOULDN'T GO WITH SUCH ODD CONFIGURATION. even if it does it will be on 384bit instead of 256bit....and i doubt amd would ever go odd config like 40/48rops....

it will most certain be 64rops 96TMU and 1920sp, 512bit bus

Oh great, a week delay for the HD 6800 series. Neither AMD, NVIDIA nor Intel can stick to a freaking time and execute the product.

If the HD 6870 cannot defeat the current HD 5870, they will have credibility issues because they may in fact re-branded the HD 5870 into the HD 6870. Just like in the past, the HD 5770 blew away the HD 4870 and so I would have expected the HD 6770 blowing away the HD 5870.

Anyway only time will tell once they get released. Releasing the HD 6900 series is only going to cause confusion which is what I think AMD wants to create since they are #1 in performance.

Any thoughts?

you have to remember that the 6000 series is still built on the same protsess as the 5000 series so the gains wont be so major as we saw with the the move from 4000 series to 5000 series

Buy Nvidia.

or..

Give up entirely and find a new hobby...

or..

Not care until there's a new release of cards, not care what they are called or how they look and see how they perform when it's actually in my system.

I'll take the latter.

if that was correct then i will win the bet :)

There is no bet.

yupz, they can call it what ever they want i don't cae as long as the price performance was reasonable if they plan to use bart XT and i expected it to price below $250 mark

All we have heard is rumors; it's inaccurate to characterize an announcement one week later than the rumor as a delay.

I can't believe people are still discussing what the 6750 and 6770 will have. Specs are already out.

Also any thinking that 6870 will be 512 bit bus is laughable. I'd seriously take a bet with someone who believed that one. 384 bit I doubt and still think 256 is what we will see.

with you on the us width. my guess is 256bit with higher performing GDDR5 modules than the 67X0's. Though its not long now until all is made clear. Can't wait for the NDA to be lifted

Yea there were some early rumors about 384 bus but with the GPUz shot I really doubt anything else now. Besides a 512 bus adds way, way too much to the cost of the board compared to a 256. No reason adding to the cost of a board when you can get the same bandwidth through higher speed Gddr5. Plus it is possible to drive the cost of that high speed ram down with bulk selling.

Also any thinking that 6870 will be 512 bit bus is laughable. I'd seriously take a bet with someone who believed that one. 384 bit I doubt and still think 256 is what we will see.

if you stick with 256bit bus most likely you will stuck with 48rops

if you stick with 48 rops you will have to go 384bit bus

since both amd/nv had stuck with max rop per bus will be impossible to push rop further without more bus. and cayman will not have same number of rops like barts had as it's pointless to add more shader without larger rops operate. so 48 rops has to be 384bit bus. and amd will not go odd config like nvidia and 64 rops cannot put on exist 256bit bus. 32rops on cypress = 8x4 and each rop obtain 32bit bus and that is the minimum limitation that allow ring bus to operate and cannot go below 32bit per rops. which that is the reason why evergreen line was hugely bottleneck that people tend to argue cypress was double of r770 but end up only increase 60%. original r600 are 64bit per rops and r770 are also 64bit/bus until evengreen tweak it to 32bit per rop/bus. it will be impossible to have 64rops on 256bit bus and it will end up each rops only obtain 16bit bus which existed architect won't allow it happen.

however continuing exist 32rops configuration is just pointless because adding shader don't increase frame rate, rops does. also 480 ALU is already the limitation in exist 40nm fabrication and amd won't waste such number of ALU core on only 32rops GPU.... if you know nothing about gpu architecture you better be silence because that will just make you look bad.

Plus it is possible to drive the cost of that high speed ram down with bulk selling.

then you can't add more rops if you can't have higher bus...exist ringbus architect on both NV/AMD can't allow config like 16bit /rops exist. 32bit/rops is most likely the limitation that ringbus can hold. if amd insist stay on 256bit bus they most likely stuck with 32rops and there for 32rops cause bottleneck to larger number of ALU/shader as frame rate will not increase in largely margin. we all laern from how r770 was bottle neck so much by its rop then why amd want to go on narrow rops/bus if the framerate won't go up in higher number? without higher fillrate shader are pretty much useless.....

256bit bus and you will stuck in 32 rops....

with you on the us width. my guess is 256bit with higher performing GDDR5 modules than the 67X0's. Though its not long now until all is made clear. Can't wait for the NDA to be lifted
