Very Addicting and FUN - Tower Defense Game

Nooo...must...not...play...until...passing...out!

Yes, almost like PixelJunk Monsters!

lol, its virtual crack....

(Before the technical types scoff at how simple this is, just remember its MEANT to be simple - Not everyone's a web designer :)

Anyone sick of playing this online?, you can play it offline too :

Save the following File with a download manager :

" http://media.ebaumsworld.com/mediaFiles/game/463847/80994844.swf "

Once you have this file - just create a Blank text file in the same directory as the "80994844.swf" file then copy /paste the following text into the text file :

<DIV ALIGN=CENTER>
<body bgcolor=#000000>
<embed src="80994844.swf" width="1024" height="768">

Now save the text file, and rename it "whatevernameyoulike.htm"

Now Double click the Htm file to play the game - you will have to start over - but it will save your progress and scores to your PC and you can now play offline.

If runs too Big/Small on your screen - you can try the following other sizes :

<embed src="80994844.swf" width="640" height="480">

<embed src="80994844.swf" width="800" height="600">

<embed src="80994844.swf" width="1440" height="900">

In truth you can use any sizes you like but these will keep it nice and square.

hey it works. but there is no sound :P

I've been paying it since 3 hours lol

that's an ok idea, but its not like it uses a shitload of bandwidth, just as easy to open the browser.

It's extremely difficult, and takes a bit of luck, but here's how I did it.

You need to make sure you have your meteor spell leveled all the way and by the final wave, have 500 mana and a bit of money, also make sure that you have the skill that makes building your temples give you 20 mana.

It's a good idea to set the speed to low on the final boss so he walks slower, when he shows up spam all five of your meteors, by holding down shift and clicking on the boss. if he’s not frozen he’ll be weakened but not killed. This is when you very quickly place 5 temples again holding shift to do it quickly, to gain 100 more mana, then cast one more meteor spell on the boss and he should die.

in order to help you gain the money, upgrade your cut out spell so that it only costs 50 mana to use and gives you 100 gold each time you use it. every time you see you don’t need mana and you’re maxed out spam cut out on random things to get more money.

Ahh that is basically what I figured. Now I need to level a bunch to get more points to spend. :toast:

DG:TA is painfully addictive. I can't stop replaying everything to see if I can do just a little better. ARGH.

Never heard of Sol Survivor. I assume I will own it shortly. I am a TD junkie.

Sol Survivor is different and if you're used to Defense Grid like i was you'll have some problems at first. But once you get hang of it, it's brilliant. More chaotic on later waves, but also requires skightly better strategic part, and you ahve to combine towers more and you also have to build loads of them compared to Defense Grid. It's like tower spamming sometimes :D
Anyway, try it, i got it cheap during summer deals on Steam. Worth every cent. Brilliant game.

Saying that any particular game in any genre is "the best" is really subjective.

DG:TA is easy to learn and easy to play (good UI), but not particularly difficult to complete if you are not striving for optimal scores, ranking or trying to get some of the achievements.

The levels are artfully crafted with a lot of detail, so the game looks very nice (3D iso view with 3 levels of zoom and panning, but no rotation). You can pause the game and restart levels at anytime. There is also a method to make a "checkpoint" that you can go back to if your cunning tower layout starts well but evolves into epic failure.

There are now a couple of expansion missions and also some cheap DLC missions ($2 each or something).

Overall, it's a fine game that you can relax and enjoy for many hours. If you are the kind of gamer that likes to beat a game as fast a possible without enjoying the complexities and variations presented, you will not like the game.

Just my 2 cent review. :)

bought this game last night just outta curiosity, and oh man i was up till 5am trying how i can finish the level better and i can see myself playing this all weekend! Its around 14$ total with game and dlc's "steam"

And resisted to try Sol Survivor, but when i did, i couldn't stop playing it. With several modes it gives you nearly unlimited options and almost days of gameplay (not just hours).

Whoa Whoa, slow down there. LOL. I just posted this link. People make the choice when to play it... If it so happens to be at work, during a massive exchange server crash, is it really my fault. j/k

That's the BEST time to play :rockout:

I can't stay mad at you, this game is soo good :p

Well I have only 1 brilliant star left - level 14. 15 was easier than 14. I'm lvl 32, almost 33.

Bookmarking for play after my exam on Tuesday. I will not cave in!

Tuesday? Damn you could squeeze 1 round in. Just 1 round man. 1 round can't hurt anything. Give it a try.

In what is being labeled as the worst global pandemic in all of recorded history, the WHO has placed it's entire staff and all field operatives on a level 9 alert.

According to WHO spokesman Dr. Drew Blood, the astronomical increase in addiction to what the organization describes as "Digital Crack" is having a catastrophic effect on productivity around the globe and is threatening the stability of world financial markets. Dr. Blood, a renowned Phychobabbleanalyticaltherabologist, was quoted as saying, "The recent meteoric rise in the number of reported cases, combined with the ease of manufacturing and distribution of this product make the Methamphetamine problem look like a single, old, flower-power hippie standing in his skid-marked underwear out in the garage rolling a doober."

In the USA, Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) Spokesperson, Agent Ima Jackwagon, informed Rooster's that the ATF has enlisted the help of the Department of Defense's elite cyber warfare team to track down the perpetrators. "We have found a major player in the arena.", stated Ms. Jackwagon, "A DCL [Digital Crack Lord] who is only known by the mysterious handle of ZenZimZaliben. We were closing in on him, but during the cyber offensive 98% of our cyber tracking agents became addicted to, what is called on the streets, "Tower Defense". This has greatly slowed our progress."

In a follow-up telephone call, Ms. Jackwagon would only respond with, "!@#$ alien scum stole another [unintelligable words]", and in a somewhat strange e-mail sent to his manager, Rooster's reporter, Lez Timetowork, said he will continue delving into this bizzare subculture when he has made 14 brilliant.

... and so it begins.

lol nice... DCL Digital Crack Lord LOL

on another not, WHY THE HELL DID YOU BUMP THIS? NOW IMANA LOSE EVEN MORE TIME :banghead: :roll:

What makes you think ZZZ is the only DCL around? :D

Now ... you have time for one more game. You know it won't take long. Just one more ...

... and so it begins.

LMAO! That is hilarious :laugh:

Anyways, enough jokes. Get back to playing...you know you want it. That brilliant star is right around the corner. You can get it this time I bet.

To understand this short article, please Read RNA's about the worst pandemic known to date...

Breaking News! Techpowerup! Forums is suspected to have many DCL as members (including the reknown ZenZimZaliben), and rumors state it that newer Moderators have been influenced into becoming DCLs! The prime suspect in the ongoing DCL investigation is a member of a certain Firing squad, and he is believed to use a Digital Sniper to wreck chaos! The WHO asks cyber users to be careful not to fall victim of DCLs, who seem to only grow larger in number and become more and more powerful; Caution is key to escape from these evil manipulators

:eek:

NO NO NONONONONONONONONONOONOOOOOO!

NO.

I will not.

I have restraint.

I WILL NOT!

sun-of-a-bitch........ there goes an hour.........:cry:

We DCLs are not immune. I wasted most of yesterday playing Sol Survivor. :banghead:

My comparison of SS to DG:TA (my personal opinion, of course)

SS has more types of towers than DG:TA
- More types of towers is always better.
SS adds the "choose a commander" thing which limits which towers can be used in a given mission. In DG:TA you can use any of the unlocked towers.
- I like being able to pick any tower I want. It increases replayability even more.
DG:TA allows you to use towers to control the enemy's path. SS does not.
- This feature is pure strategic awesomesauce.
SS has more enemy waves per mission than DG:TA
- IMO this gets a little tiring after awhile. I would have rather seen more mission (DG:TA has shorter mission and less of them, just to be fair)
DG:TA has a more entertaining story.
- This is just a fun factor thing and does not detract from SS in any way.
SS has better camera control than DG:TA, but both leave things to be desired. I would have liked to see both have farther zoom-out capability on larger maps. Both games have easy to use GUIs and intuitive controls.

Overall ... I like DG:TA better, even though it is shorter and has less towers. It seems in a sense, more strategic with the path manipulating and does not give you the feeling of tower spamming that SS does on many occasions, especially early in the missions. This, of course, does not mean that I won't waste countless hours playing it, as it is a lot of fun.

I still await the ultimate tower defense game.
Since "ultimate" is totally subjective, I will probably have to write it myself. :D

Now ... you don't really need to stop to sleep do you? Sleeping is highly overrated. Just have another cup of coffee and play one more time ... one more time ... one more time ...
