Sapphire TriXX Beta Up.....

Well fried my card today messing with Trixx and Overclocking LOL.
Took it back and they gave me a Gigabyte card instead same clocks but stock voltage on this sucker.

Dude I have overclocked the living piss out of some many cards and never had that issue. The TriXX doesn't have enough voltage to fry them out. 1.30 is not much for these cards. They can go pretty safely to 1.40 with right temps. I had a set of 5770s that lived at 1.35 overclocked and benching all the time. My old GTX 295s were always going maxed. I think you either had a defective card or temps were outta control.

See post above.... this will solve the problem just make sure the software is not on start up till you get everything running good.

i have had ULPS off he whole time and had forgotten about it, i turned it off during stock overclocking on the very first day i got them, i have pretty much given up on doing anything much with overclocking in crossfire.

Although i did manage to get one of my cards up to 1050mhz core and 1200mhz/4.8ghz effective last night so i'm happy :D

Nice clocks!!! :rockout:

I am going to play with Afterburner 2.1 Beta 4 tonight for some benchmarks. I had no serious issues after changing EnableUPLS to 0. I had to change it in a bunch of folders. The key is rebooting after making changes.

Thanks, to get those clocks i had to do the pencil voltage mod for the memory, stick a zalman vf1000 on the card and use an industrial ducting fan  to be honest i think this card may push a little further if it was on water but i'm done pushing it for now

Yeah i think it was defective anyway got a better clocker out of it with a better cooler so im happy. :rockout:

I have not yet tested the file myself and I do not have an HD 6900 series card to try it on. If I'm breaking any rules with this post please delete it!

Thanks :)

It's available on the Sapphire site now for 6900 owners. Still no voltage control but it does show the voltage level but the slider does not function yet

Should work on your card, as it works on a Sapphire 4850 and Gigabyte 4350 OC (factory "overclock' (lol OC on an entry card), so with non-ref BIOS). So your card is compatible too.

cool, good job wizzo, can any one confirm that it runs on sapphere 5850 toxic and the final clocks:D

so basically this will have all the same problems as oc tool?? crossfire lock ups, crossfire voltage change issues, and a few other small problems. ugh.

We all wanted to use your software since it works flawlessly, but unfortunately you don't make overclocking sofware. Seems all you make is comments about other peoples stuff.. If you know so damn much about the stuff why aren't you making programs for us and giving them away to the community for free?

Just fired up TriXX with my dual 6970's. Version 3.0.2 beta. Crossfire option ticked in Settings.

Core & Memory OC'ing works flawlessly, modifying clocks on both cards.

Voltage adjustments appear to have been disabled.

Fan Control only works for the secondary card, having no effect on the primary card.

Overall nice program, can't wait to get the Xfire fan control working, the fan settings in TriXX are awesome.

whoa dude, chill bro, it was a question. I have still yet to find a good working program for my cards, and was thinking about downloading triXX but I already have the oc tool beta, and if it is indeed the same software what would be the point of downloading it?? so next time you decide to take all offense actually read the post, i do believe there is a question mark. now I would love to delve into this some more but thats as O/T I get

EDIT:
I just tried it anyways the UI is brilliant! cheers w1zz, i still cant change voltage with it but it will oc the card without touching voltage. cheers

Will there ever be voltage adjustments for the 69xx series ? A simple yes or no will suffice, without alot of drawn out explanations, etc.

if your still running the msi bios try flashing to the stock sapphire bios seems it's voltage ajusting @ driver level could be builder id

Voltage adjust does not work on my Sapphire 6970. Slider won't work. Uninstalled.

I tried both versions of TriXX - but unforunately neither one of them would allow me to increase the voltage of my non-ref 5850 - So im boned :P

well I'm gonna try the bios flash, but as of now it wont change clocks for me anymore it did the first time but now just freeze when I hit apply. fan control works like a charm though

Hi Wizz,

I have to report a serious bug with Trixx 3.02 and HD69xx! No it is not Powertune which has been reported. It is custom fan profile! Yes the bug is unseeable on normal circumstances and bench scores. But if you run FF14 bench where is showed the graph, custom fan profile causes constant dips in the fps. It is custom because i confirmed by switching between auto and fix, the dips are gone.

Hope you fix it. Trixx seem very responsive to tweaking which is cool beans. The UI is kinda bulky though.

Dear Wizz,

Custom fan bug affect games and benches! I am wrong! 3dm11 lose me 150 points on custom than on fix/auto. Crysis minimum fps spiked consistently lower by half with custom too! This bug made it near useable!

Have two Sapphire 6950, flashed to 6970. Under the latest 11.1a drivers, I had problems with, one, the fan on the second card not responding to manual setting, two, overclocking over 900MHz/1375MHz not working (computer locking almost instantly).

I have disabled ULPS in the register, installed TRIXX 3.02 and hey, everything works like a charm now.

CrossFireX works and overclocking seems to hold also... haven't gone further than 910MHz/1400MHz for now, as I'm busy with other stuff as well so I can't reboot every so often atm...

Can only confirm that the voltage adjustment doesn't work. The slider can be moved, but when hitting "apply" it sets itself back to 900muv...

PC has ran 3DMark11 without a glitch... results aren't much higher than what I had before, but I'll do some more tinkering and tests later on...

Cheers boyz 'n' galz :toast:

Program works great for me compared to MSI Afterburner. I can now overclock beyond 900/1300(it would crash immediately in Afterburner past those clocks). Now running 940/1330 on my 5870 topping out at 34C folding.

nice but folding is not really a stable testing application and does not generate the heat that a game would by any means.
