It seems to work great, I did it because I was starting to get game crashes after I stacked on the mods. So I did it hoping to fix that, in the process it fixed the stutter I got, and I have had 0 crashes since then as well, it works great. Here is my modlist, just incase anyone is worrying about piling on mods and having issues, just do this and you should be set(I'm running a few other mods that come with multiple options that I needed to manually install, so that list doesn't show those).

edit: Oh, another question: Can you do same-sex marriage in Skyrim? I'm one of those weird guys that likes to play as a female, but I definitely don't want to marry a male.

I also play as female, typically designed and named after whomever female person im together with, at the time of the char creation.
Has been painful sometimes, after it was over... but its simply great not to be one of those guys that always create Characters designed after themselves... seems like slight compensation, for things not done in real life

have you lost much FPS by using all of those mods? im using a few of them already, but there are still some in your list, of which i think might improve my skyrim experience by much

I create my characters o be the kind of person I wish I could be, or would like to be but can't. Ripped like Arnold and do as I please, killing all in my way (and some not in my way). Though I am now going to make a Mage, I am a bit disappointed in the dragons, I have been refusing to use bows, but dragons just fly over me and leave after a while, shouts don't have the range to hit them so they just never land (had this happen for 4 dragons now). And then most I do fight are in towns and they just land on rooftops and tear into me as I stare at them, a bit of a disappointment since I want to play pure melee.

My setup seems to be handling it fine, I do get a bit of frame drops now and then, but it's not that bad, and is completely worth it.

stand in a more open area, and they'll land to have a go at you. also, there is a shout you can get that forces dragons to land - i just have no idea when or how to get it.

Yeah, I usually have to run out of town to get them to drop down, though rarely they will land in the town. Hopefully I can find whatever shout it is you are talking about, will make my character much more enjoyable. Talking with friends who are 5 - 6 levels behind me and they know as many shouts as I do, simply because they have ranged attacks and get the dragons attention.

This game really needs tesselation... would make it even more awesome, cant think of any actual game that needs it more than Skyrim... just my thoughts, when i see all those badly textured patches here and there

i like the game, but I feel that it forces you into heavy armor because of the "boss fights" that it has... my ninja khajit character is super fun to play, but I really get penalized for not wearing heavy armor...

Just made a new character, going with Stormcloaks, killed some guys and looted them, then noticed this corpses epic pose... Looks like he's getting ready for a golden shower.

can you rename items when you enchant them? i had a real inventory fuckabout when i enchanted some elven armor, and picked up identical armor... it thought they were the same item and kept selling the wrong one/hotkeys would randomly choose one.

Yeah, you can rename, even without enchanting them. Just go to the enchanting table, and rename it.

Not really, if you do related quests, more would spring up all over Skyrim. It would depend on how you deal with the quests though. I was very careful how to deal with a particular rebellious NPC in Solitude right at the other side of Skyrim... now he's my friend, and fence too.

Corpses, lol I have a penchant for them. Normally I drag them around and drop them into rivers. I'm not sure of the NPCs' AI, but perhaps it'd helps to hid traces...

I'm not a killer by nature, but well, occasionally I have to do it.

The last time I had to kill, for a quest, I had to kill an entire household. I spent 20 rl minutes placing them 'so that nobody notices' :laugh:

2 in bed who look like sleeping, another two sitting down (or more slumped...) on the chairs of the dining table.

(Now if this game is anything like Oblivion, the next time I'll visit that house all the dead people would jump up like grasshoppers and give me a scare...)

I rarely crash to desktop with this game, but what's bugging me is that it frequently occurs while I'm trying to get a screenshot.

Yesterday I was in front of the Jarl of Markarth, who to my amusement decided to don quite bright light violet clothes. I think he got the fabric dye from Windhelm where I once saw large trees with the same color hue... :rolleyes:

[Which reminds me I have to install that 4GB address fix which is the cause of this]

Anyway as luck would have it, as soon as I pressed print-screen I crashed to desktop and lost the image - the Jarl really looked gay in those clothes. When I restarted he was back to his old normal clothing. I haz a sad for not capturing him in those embarrassing clothes..

Using LAA now for Skyrim! By the way don't use LAA on the Skyrim launcher it has broken it for me, just use it on the TESV.exe

And yes to the Rename items at the enchant table. Just press "Z" (even if you remapped it)type in the name and to save it hit "Enter" the key other wise it won't save it.

FFS, I just had an epic battle with a dragon, some giants, and mammoths and right after I finally killed the dragon, the mammoth comes over kills me

I'm not weak, I'm just squishy! I'm working on building up my smithing and enchanting so I can make some good armor which increases magicka regen like the robes do. Also, I got a fucking awesome spell that lets me transmute iron ore into silver ore and silver ore into gold ore. I mined a shit ton of ore and then made a ton of jewelery and gained like 20 levels in smithing lol.

not sure i want to risk a random patch tho in case it breaks things.

I'm using the ENB TES SKyrim Patch at the moment.
It's one of those patches which a .ini and custom d3d9.dll are place into the same folder as the TESV Launcher.
No overwriting.
The mods at the TES forum have made it the unofficial fix at present.

As for mods.....I'm giving them a pass on the first run through as I did with Oblivion.

Apparently there is going to be a huge patch on the way from Bethesda from what I have read.
Just no news as to when.

Hopefully they can somehow make the UI more user friendly for mouse and keyboard.
Allow more than one hotkey to be assigned to a weapon so you can have 1 = Sword + Conjure, 2 = Same sword + another for dual wielding.

The Horse is amazing. no mountain is too steep for that man. if i knew how to do spoiler links i would do them and show you some of the things ive come across i came across a few minion summoning weapons so far and usually have a war party on my side wherever i go. i mainly play archer with sword and board when i need to or dual weapons for quick room clearing and sneak attack kills. right now on sneak attacks on just about anything i can one shot or if they area a more tough opponent almost dead. dragons are 50% before they land if i can sneak a shot in. and Krosis got tore up by my range LoS abilities but he kept turning my minions against me and lydia got stuck in a tree. all in all this game is amazing im loving it way to much and really need to pull away from the game.
i probably will take a break once my weekend is over. Maybe

I shouted to get the mammoth to come over and beat up the dragon with me.
Once the dragon had met it's end and I was on barely any health, the mammoth attacked me while I wasn't looking.

Shit, I forgot I can shout now. I've only just started the main quest so that was the first random dragon encounter I've had.

seriously, the first 3 or so dragons i didn't use shouts (when i could) , much much easier when you remember to use the shouts
