I wasn't referring to browsing saves. Never heard of that issue, though I'm sure I'll get it eventually. I might give this game a break for a few months. More polished mods, cards worth upgrading too.

Ah I see I didn't read properly. :eek:

But yeah, if I click on save or load, every time the hard drive will start going for it with very brief stops where my mouse will be able to move.
The mouse lock ups last up to 5 seconds on average with a 1-2 second time gap where it will be able to move.

I haven't looked in to it, as it's not a big deal since I don't need to save or load all the time.

so i fast traveled to a place i know where a dragon respawns at. and when i fast traveled to him i engaged him and another flew in during the fight. i'm not sure if this a bug or what but i killed the first one then moved onto the second one and swiftly killed that one as well.. the problem is i only absorbed one dragon soul from the second one i killed but not the first one...

I have had this happen to me twice when fast traveling although I have never encountered not being able to get the dragon soul.

The second time another dragon joined the fight, I killed the first dragon in a couple of seconds, afterwards the second dragon flew away.

I get this as well when wanting to load or save almost every time.
I notice the mouse stops working and the hard drive light is on full.
It's as if the game is going for it when loading the thumbnails for the other save files or something.

There are brief stops of hard drive activity which can allow me to click new save but if I let it run it can take a while before the hard drive activity stops.

I consider this a bug.

sounds like an issue with your system, and not a game bug.

hmm, loading usually just takes about less than 5 seconds n my end, a little longer in initial loading or long distance fast travel.

yes its all there as i said the game engine is that old most of it is relics from previous games if you look hard enough you can find it,

from what i can understand, if someone was dedicated enough Oblivion and morrowind can be ported into Skyrim the quests and events will work, but the objects, weapons, people will be rather fucked up

example morrowind to oblivion it loaded the new head mesh but loaded the old body lol, really crazy stuff but it did work, with borders off you could essentially have all 3 games in 1 wont happen mind you but it is entirely possible.

there is no way that you can see a low res copy of the land because it is left from a previous game. that makes absolutely no sense. i can understand when you refer to recycled code or even models though less likely - but to say they have those land masses included because they are simply leftovers... i don't think so.

Possibly.
I had an issue with my main drive getting CRC errors noted and lockups one day due to my DVD drive causing some sort of overload or lock up caused by a bad SATA cable.
Since replacing the SATA cable it has stopped


It has been a while.
But defragging means taking time away from Skyrim.:eek:

AO at performance setting is good in my end, once i preset it to quality theres a noticeable performance impact on my card XD.

What's the point of a "fortify potion" ?? For instance: In skyrim, I just made this potion which increases the "heavy armor skill" by +10 for 60 seconds...

What's the point of increasing the skill for 60 seconds? does it affect anything?

What's the point of increasing the skill for 60 seconds? does it affect anything?

Yes, the heavy armor you're wearing will absorb more damage for 60 seconds. This may come in handy using during a battle or something.

its that your NOT using it, its that depending on what uGrid settings you have certain other aspects wont push past it

example if I set my Ugrid to 5 but push grass to 25000 distance it dosent render as far out as 25000 on Ugrid 9 at least from what ive tested'

essentially you can inflate values to extremes but if the game engine isnt loading the cell it wont make a difference, the few noticable exceptions are key landmass objects and trees.
essentially think of it as a checker board.

you have a 3x3 square but you set grass to render at say 24000, well lets say 24000 grass bleeds into 4x4 square, well because the game engine is limited via ugrid to 3x3 the grass settings wont spill over to the 4x4 because well the cell data there isnt loaded so the game engine dosent bother with it, much like the game dosent bother with interior cells when your outside them, It depends on what your trying to push for extreme details.

then again what do I know / sarcasm.

there is no way that you can see a low res copy of the land because it is left from a previous game. that makes absolutely no sense. i can understand when you refer to recycled code or even models though less likely - but to say they have those land masses included because they are simply leftovers... i don't think so.

I dont mean the landmass itself

but when looking at script files item files textures meshes etc if you look you can find left overs from previous games, there hard to spot and Bethesda is usually good about removing 99% of it but in many cases some of it is still left behind, after all leaving it there does no harm anyway. I cant tell for sure yet with Skyrim, but Oblivion had some left overs from Morrowind when it first came out.

Changed uGrids from 5 to 7 to 9 and there was no noticeable difference from 7 to 9, but there was from 5 to 7. Then I changed to 11 from 9 and there's a difference again.

And again, I find it weird that you can say THAT about uGrids if you're using those three screenshots...unless you're talking about the 99% GPU usage?

Because there were no changes in uGrid settings there at all in those screenshots. The only changes between them were Quality or High Quality AO, or the Supersampling setting (2x, 4x, 8x).
