That's crap. I don't wanna play a modern combat scenario with fictional guns. Half the fun for me is using weapons I actually know about in a fantasy setting. Politically correct BS. I hate this f#$king world.

Sounds like they are going to use real guns just not paying for rights because the Gun Manufacturers tried to pin gun violence on the gaming community not guns.
Instead of being smart and aligning themselves with the gaming world they threw them under the bus. Oh well guess we will get to watch the show once they do that.
You can bet EA will be sued. Guess they should sue Hollywood too:wtf:

I still keep getting "disconnected from EA online" a few times loading but once I'm on a server all is well now.

...and now I can't get on a server anymore.

Don't worry MailMan. It just means that EA isn't going to be paying any licensing to any gun makers and still use the real deal.

Me, I don't care. I'm going to be viewing the battles and spamming in supplies in the Commander Strategic Operations Center brought to you by Mountain Dew... Do the Dew.

Gun manufactures never accused the entertainment industry of being a source of gun violence. The NRA did and the fact of the matter is they are right. As an avid gamer for 30+ years I will ADMIT it instead of acting like it has no effect on people. Its time people own up and MAN UP to the BS. Violent media has been PROVEN to desensitize people. Its been proven since WW2 for shit sakes.

Yes and I want my rifle to say McMillan on it or my M14 to say Springfield. EA is backing out to be politically correct and I'm sick and tired of people bending over backwards not to "offend" this craptastic time out generation.

This was a stupid ass move by the gun makers. Who are they hurting with this pointless posturing and passing the blame. So now my Colt 1911 will be a .45 1911 handgun. I am so affected by this I must stop playing shooters.

That's awesome. Now I can make Disney movies, shirts and anything else I want and not pay copyrights. I can make all the NFL, NBA apparel or anything else I want too without buying the licenses! Sounds like a GREAT IDEA! What could go wrong!

I guess you shouldn't support these kinds of things and not buy the game.

No I don't. I don't blame EA for this pointless. After the tragic shooting, gun makers caught a lot of heat. Recently their plan to get from under the microscope was to basically blame the shooting, teen violence, and anything else of violent video games. Why would EA continue to pay them to use the names of their weapons if they are the #1 people blaming games for stuff. It was basically an abusive relationship that EA decided to end.

The NRA blamed them. Not gun makers. And the NRA is right. Violent media isn't the #1 cause but it aint helping.

Nothing in life is ever free :toast:

The reason those guns don't have those names on them now is most likely because EA didn't set out to gain licencing for them. Them actually taking this route (if gun makers don't fight them in court over it), actually has a greater chance of you getting what you want, and them using the actual names on the weapons since they don't plan on paying for it. So I'm not even sure what your complaining about, this at worst will remain the way it is, and at best turn out to be more in favor of what you are looking for.

Benchmark Scores I don't benchmark.
Gun makers have allowed the NRA to rep them for decades. If they had issue with what the NRA was saying and/or doing, they would do something about it.

And I am firm believer that violent media does not directly correlate to violent behavior.

Battlefieldo - Possible BF4 details leaked

Discussion in 'News & Updates' started by Pancake, Yesterday at 5:18 PM.

Last week NeoGAF published the details of a survey held by EA, in which EA asked the participants about possible Battlefield 4 content. Not late after this news was published, EA released a statement that read:

"We conduct surveys related to our titles covering various random topics. These are just ideas that do not indicate at all what we have in development."

How odd this statement may seem, this survey revealed information of which we did not yet know of. We have no confirmation from a reputable person affiliated with DICE or EA on this information, so we will approach this as such; rumors. However, there is an indication that this information could possibly be legitimate, considering DICE's strong interest in naval combat. But an indication does not pass as a confirmation, so we will question the legitimacy of this information until EA or DICE says otherwise.

Below you will find some interesting rumors that were included in the Imgur album, which I will link to below, on the end of this article:

Battlefield 4 wishes to elevate the physical interactivity on the battlefield to a whole new level, making the battlefield a lot more dynamic. Your decisions and actions on the battlefield will matter in real time, and will physically alter the shape of the battlefield. A few examples have been given, such as; being able to blow up the foundations of a dam which will ultimate with a flooding of a certain area. You can set off the alarm of a vehicle if you bump into it, giving away your position. You can cut the power of a building and shroud your enemy in complete darkness.

Battlefield 4 will be run on the Frostbite 3 engine, a new engine that "delivers the highest standard of immersion and in entertainment". It is claimed to be superior and unmatched in levels of visual and audio quality, character animations and dynamic environments, creating "the most believable and visceral combat experience possible".

Battlefield 4 will push the boundaries of war beyond the shoreline, and will add intense water-based combat to the game. It will include pilot attack boats, jet skis and RHIB's on rough, swelling and dynamic seas and oceans.

In Battlefield 4 you will be able to unlock so-called 'Battlepacks', as a reward for our determination and hard work in combat. You will never know what you will get when you open up a Battlepack, considering that there are 300 Battlepacks that will feature more than 1200 items. Possible rewards include bonus XP boosts, knives, weapon attachments, customization options such as soldier camouflages, weapon paints and dog tags. The more you play the faster you will earn these Battlepacks.

Curious for more? Well, you're in luck, then. Here is the whole album: Battlefield 4 rumors
