Last week NeoGAF published the details of a survey held by EA, in which EA asked the participants about possible Battlefield 4 content. Not late after this news was published, EA released a statement that read:
"We conduct surveys related to our titles covering various random topics. These are just ideas that do not indicate at all what we have in development."
How odd this statement may seem, this survey revealed information of which we did not yet know of. We have no confirmation from a reputable person affiliated with DICE or EA on this information, so we will approach this as such; rumors. However, there is an indication that this information could possibly be legitimate, considering DICE's strong interest in naval combat. But an indication does not pass as a confirmation, so we will question the legitimacy of this information until EA or DICE says otherwise.
Below you will find some interesting rumors that were included in the Imgur album, which I will link to below, on the end of this article:
Battlefield 4 wishes to elevate the physical interactivity on the battlefield to a whole new level, making the battlefield a lot more dynamic. Your decisions and actions on the battlefield will matter in real time, and will physically alter the shape of the battlefield. A few examples have been given, such as; being able to blow up the foundations of a dam which will ultimate with a flooding of a certain area. You can set off the alarm of a vehicle if you bump into it, giving away your position. You can cut the power of a building and shroud your enemy in complete darkness.
Battlefield 4 will be run on the Frostbite 3 engine, a new engine that "delivers the highest standard of immersion and in entertainment". It is claimed to be superior and unmatched in levels of visual and audio quality, character animations and dynamic environments, creating "the most believable and visceral combat experience possible".
Battlefield 4 will push the boundaries of war beyond the shoreline, and will add intense water-based combat to the game. It will include pilot attack boats, jet skis and RHIB's on rough, swelling and dynamic seas and oceans.
In Battlefield 4 you will be able to unlock so-called 'Battlepacks', as a reward for our determination and hard work in combat. You will never know what you will get when you open up a Battlepack, considering that there are 300 Battlepacks that will feature more than 1200 items. Possible rewards include bonus XP boosts, knives, weapon attachments, customization options such as soldier camouflages, weapon paints and dog tags. The more you play the faster you will earn these Battlepacks.
Curious for more? Well, you're in luck, then. Here is the whole album:
