That's just MM , he's a pain in the ass :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Any real Battlefield fan that has over 300 hrs will adjust to any of these things and deal with
what bothers them. I have to say the Tactical lights are just lame though. Give me a break if I got a light shined in my fucking face I'm shooting directly at it and not missing. That is just plain dumb. Maybe in close quarters at 20 feet, but come on man do they have 1,000,000 candle power lights on a rifle or pistol ? NO

Is that why you don't come to teamspeak anymore?

Well they are annoying gimmicks, and yes I got over 850 hrs in BF3 and 670 hrs in BC2 (not so much in BF2, since I played WoW 24/7 back then).
Take the SOFLAM for instance that thing has a range of 300+ meters, can designate passively, is virtually indestructible due to faulty hitbox, and has a rather wide lockon arc (for instance when controlled actively you're able to lock on targets that are in the corner of your screen).
Another example bunny-hopping, and the list goes on.
I know you learn to cope with it, but all those 'small' annoyances combined will take its toll on you in the long run.
In all fairness, I do just want the game to be better, and I got a feeling DICE isn't pushing it hard enough.

Um no way dude. Do not agree at all (except about the SOFLAM hit box; yeah you gotta get right up near it). Lock ons are not "gimmicks" at all but rather provide some balance against powerful vehicles. And too many jets still rape with impunity because two guys with Stinger/IGLA or AA need to work together to reliably hit them.

In fact, they better have fixed the ridiculous bug (or whatever it is) that causes the target to jump all over the place onto different vehicles if many are in your immediate FOV, including empty ones. That has screwed me more times than I can count.

Okay let us focus the discussion on lock on warfare, for the record I am not saying there should be no lock on weapons, I just hate the way it is implemented mainly regarding the SOFLAM.
I don't know if you ever played Kharg Island or Noshahr Canals RUSH, the defending team just has to point a SOFLAM towards the aircraft carrier and it is game over, assuming someone resupplies their Javelin ammo. I don't know if you've ever seen those clips of people on the tower in Gulf of Oman or Caspain Border where the one team can just place a SOFLAM on a tower/skyscraper and destroy every helicopter and jet before they have even lift off? Please tell me how the SOFLAM is balanced.
The Stigla is fine for the most part although 72% in a single hit is a lot.
Air-to-surface and Surface-to-air is fine with me, air-to-air and ground-to-ground is not. Air Superiority is one big Heatseekerfest for instance, how boring and tedious is that?

BF4Central - Battlefield 4: everything that’s confirmed so far

This article is supposed to contain confirmed info only, so I thought I'd point out items that are merely rumour, or conjecture. In bold. -- Gully

A complete breakdown of everything we know so far about the upcoming multiplayer shooter from EA and DICE.
Battlefield 4 was unveiled last month, and over the past few weeks, we’ve gotten a ton of information about the upcoming first person shooter. We know that the game is scheduled for release this Fall, and that a beta will be available in the Fall as well. We also know that the game is only confirmed for the PC and current gen consoles, but there have been strong indications that Battlefield 4 will be released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720. Here’s a complete breakdown of everything we know so far about BF4:
Battlefield 4 singleplayer
Battlefield 4 soldierSo far DICE has only discussed the Battlefield 4 singleplayer portion. Starting with the full 17 minute singleplayer gameplay walkthrough, we got to see the new direction DICE is taking with BF4. In a subsequent interview, DICE said that they weren’t satisfied with the singleplayer in BF3, and felt that it was “too controlling and too linear“. They’re looking to make the Battlefield 4 singleplayer more like the recent Bad Company games, where players had more freedom to chose how to approach a particular objective.
Battlefield 4 Multiplayer
There haven’t been many details on the Battlefield 4 multiplayer part, but we do know a few things. For one, PC gamers will still be getting the full 64-player experience, while those on the PS3 and Xbox 360 will once again be limited to 24 players. One piece of good news is that DICE is taking special interest in eSports with Battlefield 4, which means the game might ship with some advanced tournament features. Another thing that’s been confirmed is that co-op will not return in Battlefield 4.
Pre-orders and bonuses
The game is now available for pre-order on EA’s Origin platform and at various brick and mortar retailers around the world. If you pre-order, you’ll be getting free access to the very first Battlefield 4 DLC, called Drone Strike Expansion. EA also offers a Digital Deluxe Edition on Origin, which include access to the beta this Fall. GameStop and other retailers will throw in a pair of real dog tags if you pre-order. Battlefield 4 is already the most pre-ordered game at GameStop and other retailers.
New Frostbite 3 game engine
Battlefield 4 Frostbite 3The “brand new” (as DICE calls it) Frostbite 3 engine powers Battlefield 4 and adds better destruction, new weather effects, new lighting system, new character animations, and more. DICE is working with both Nvidia and AMD to release video card drivers optimized for Battlefield 4 when the game hits the store shelves this Fall. Additionally, Frostbite 3 will be used in the upcoming Dragon Age 3 and Mass Effect games.
Battlefield 4 weapons and vehicles
We’ve only seen a few Battlefield 4 weapons so far. One of them is the M1911 pistol, another is the M39 EMR sniper rifle, both of which are featured on the poster and box art. Additionally, we’ve seen plenty of weapons and vehicles during the 17-minute singleplayer gameplay session. As for Battlefield 4 vehicles, game artwork has revealed the M1 Abrams tank, the Chinese Type-99 tank, and the Russian MI-28 Havoc attack helicopter.
Battlefield 4 beta
The Battlefield 4 beta will launch this Fall, and will be accessible to all BF3 Premium owners. Additionally, there are two ways to get into the beta: pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition on Origin, or purchase a copy of Medal of Honor Warfighter.
Battlefield 4 Premium
Battlefield 4 contructionDICE confirmed last month that Battlefield 4 will be getting a Premium service, and that it will likely be ready at launch this Fall. Premium should retail for $50 and will offer free access to all upcoming DLC, new Battlelog features, and other goodies. For more, check out our recent article about what we can expect in Battlefield 4 Premium.
DLC and maps
We know that Battlefield 4 DLC is already in the making, and EA has confirmed that the very first DLC, Drone Strike Expansion, will be released shortly after launch. Drone Strike Expansion will be free to those who pre-order the game from EA and other retailers. As for Battlefield 4 maps, we’ve heard rumors that the popular BF2 map Road To Jalalabad might be remade for BF4.
Trailers and screenshots
Finally, we’ve got a collection of the trailers, screenshots, and wallpapers that have been released so far. Also check out the final Battlefield 4 box art for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

I'm a little confused on the whole perk thing. Some are saying that you can't have a completely customizable FUBAR. If that's the case, then how are we suppose to use the other perks that are not in the 3 default lists???

That isn't very surprising, hardcore maps draw less traffic, and Rush servers even fewer. I play quite a bit of hardcore, but only conquest and usually no smaller than 48 player servers.

Well I took your advice on a whim and changed nothing but making it normal. Fill right up, not even trying.

Kind of surprised because when we had a 64 man hardcore conquest server, it wasn't hard to fill. Though like you said, rush it not much cared for but we figured it would play better then 32 man conquest. Feels kind of empty at 32 on conquest. Budget does not allow for anything more then 32 right now.

If any prefer 32 man Rush, take a look and let me know what you think.

Only rules are no base rape (which is not that common in rush) and watch the language. We have some kids that are around sometimes and we just ask you watch the language. There's not filter so you won't get kicked for assault or stupid stuff like that. :toast:

SOFLAM goes down extremely easily to TV missile. I believe TV also out distances all locks. everything in battlefield is supposed to have a counterpart, a rock, paper, scissors effect.

I definitely agree on the air-air stuff. it does make flying tedious, especially for choppers.

Not at all ! MM is an OK good ole boy! Funny thing is we have a lot in common except politic's. Not sure why I don't do it anymore.
Once my kid got into PC gaming we used Battlelog chat and lately I hardly ever play it. I've been pretty busy with other shit too
and when I do play it is late here so everyone is off line. Once 4 comes out I may drop back in.

I wich they'd go back to the BFBC2 tracer mechanic. it was so rewarding to place the tracer dart on a chopper.

Firstly, I agree too that the lock on hardware needs to be tweaked but certainly not eliminated. What, I'm supposed to take down a jet with an RPG?

I'm more interested in using VOIP with 4 as well especially as it really seems they are trying to encourage true teamplay and coordination. The few times I got on TS in the beginning people were mainly just chatting about hardware and beer and whatever so I stopped joining. Again, nothing personal, it's just not what I came for...

I wich they'd go back to the BFBC2 tracer mechanic. it was so rewarding to place the tracer dart on a chopper.

Agreed.

Javelins can lock onto SOFLAM's as well, here comes the funny part, I managed to fire 4 Javelin at a SOFLAM from different angles one time, all missiles hit the SOFLAM yet none destroyed it. If they point a SOFLAM into your spawn your Viper/Havoc is down before your TV missile hits it.
Another great example is Tank Superiority, point a SOFLAM at the flag and it's an easy win (except for Armored Shield maybe due to the map layout).

Well the good news is that BF4 is getting a Portable Laser Designator (PLD) instead, so that looks quite promising. And yes I loved the tracer mechanic as well in BC2.

I love and hate flying in bf3 at the same time... Very rarely you get a game where you're in a jet fighting other jets and no1 uses a2a and no1 is super godly op... But most of the time you get one of the following, the entire team to include attack and transport copters along with jets is using a2a. Or you have a level 100 with a cockpit in his house just wtf stomping your entire team by himself.

Theirs a lack of middle ground in bf3 air combat on the pc.

Battlefieldo - New Expansion Packs Revealed!

Discussion in 'News & Updates' started by PonyForever, 35 minutes ago.

ATTENTION: The names for the remaining BF4 Expansion Packs have just been revealed! In addition to China Rising, which features 4 new maps, and Second Assault, which includes 4 fan-favorite maps, Battlefield will include the following:

Naval Strike

Dragons Teeth

Final Stand

http://www.battlefield.com/battlefield-4/expansion-packs/dragons-teeth
http://www.battlefield.com/battlefield-4/expansion-packs/final-stand

You'll get an access denied page, which means the pages exist on the server, but they're not live yet.

The China Rising Expansion Pack is available as a pre-order bonus for BF4, while the Second Assault Expansion Pack will be available after launch.

If BF4 follows the same model that BF3 has in the past, then this should complete the list of expansions. It will be interesting to see what each one of these will encompass. What do you think these will be about?

Be sure to stay tuned, as soon as we get all the details on these we'll be sharing them with you!

I haven't kept on the daily BF4 news, but I want BF4...but don't want to dump $100+ in to the damn game like BF3 cost me.

Hoping that there will be a BF4 launch party (on the West Coast/San Francisco please) as there was for both BF2 and BF3 in San Francisco. Both launch's rocked!

Am I right that AMD is backing BF4? And that there are rumors of BF4 being included in a AMD gpu game bundle? Win Win!

Edit: So It appears it will be more affordable to buy the Standard edition and wait for Premium edition to complete the DLC. Dang, that is still going to cost us MORE the $100. Big 'ole ouch on that one! Come on EA/Dice! Cut us a once and done BF4 deal this time around!

I pay just $49 and Karkand free.
Later paid for Armored $15 and $5 for Aftermath.

No way, I don't paid for expansion before release.

Good on you and I hope it works out well for all. Sometimes "until they get a place" can turn out to be famous last words.

In addition to what players will earn in-game through normal play, Battlefield 4 Premium members will receive the 12 bonus Battlefield 4 Battlepacks.

DICE also announced today the Battlefield 4 multiplayer beta*** will start in early October and will be exclusive for Battlefield 3 Premium owners, those that pre-ordered Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe, and owners of Medal of Honor Warfighter Digital Deluxe and Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition for three days.
