OFFICIAL Star Citizen

LOL

can't wait to see you in game.
:D
Should we let him play with us, or make a fake org and just invite him and then gang up on him?

Easy Rhino can be my wingman anytime.

New patch coming today that comes with support for Oculus Rift!

Nice! I can't wait to try it out on my Oculus Rift! :toast:

Bwahahaha, that was great.

Noooo, my home internet broke again! Wish I could tether my mobile phone internet to my PC...

Going to have to wait for the patch.

Nothing new in the patch other than oculus rift support anyways.

Oddly i still cant launch the game from the launcher. I must find the .exe in the files.

CR mentioned in one of the 10 for the Chairman episodes and in several forum posts that he's against the idea of microtransactions. He didn't outright say they wouldn't be there (he used his "it's definitely something we're looking into" line), but that he is opposed to the idea.

No, S42 is Squadron 42, I didn't mistype the dollar sign.
Also, I think Rocker and Human Error are pretty tied for amount invested, and I'm not far behind.

The only post-launch revenue model SC has is the ability to buy in-game money from CIG direct. Now before anyone overreacts - this is limited per account per day/week/month so someone can't come in and crash the economy, and it is a balance for people who want to play but who don't have enough game time to earn money for better ships. Unlike every MMO out there the currency you buy is the exact same currency you can earn in-game, so it's really an enabler for people who can't spend 6+ hours a day in game to be able to play for fun instead of playing to earn money to then have fun. You are right that CR is looking at other models - I think the one he looks at most is guild wars 2 where it's a pay once play forever model but there's no sign of adding microtransactions from that.

As for who has the most invested I think it's safe to say a few of us have a healthy obsession with the game :p

Patch removed the Freelancer variants :( - they haven't mentioned any additional patches due between now and DFM so it could be that the variants don't go live until then (the website is due a revamp immediately after DFM so the variants could be used to launch the new shop front).

Saw a post regarding a Star Citizen Flight Stick here, anyone know anything about it?

i left with impression that ship skins from kickstarter campaign will be sold as micro transactions when mmo goes live. also voyager direct will be active too so you can buy stuff from it and have it in game bit it use in game currency so you it will be pretty much as you said. buy currency then shop at voyager direct.

i havent patched my game yet :D
you have to tell me which files you need :D

I already back-up the game files when patched in case they accidentally release something cool :D

I hope I'll have time to try the hanger out with my Oculus Rift tonight. Of course I don't know what my wife has in store for me.

lol when I saw the announcement, I thought of you immediately.

Well I just watched a video of SC that someone posted of the new patch with the Oculus RIft. He had a 60 fps download of the youtube video and the scale of the ships are amazing!.. but they did a crappy job of the stereo view. Everything up close looks really bad, but everything looks really good from a distance. It's like they doubled the view and didn't use 2x cameras. I have to say so far I'm really impressed with the scale, and just looking at it on your monitor doesn't do it justice. I can't wait for the next update. :toast:

Here is the video I watched.

Yeah the developers said they weren't using proper stereo view yet and that close objects were not rendering correctly. Also they aren't happy with the latency at the moment and are working on it.

Yea, hopefully they will have it all corrected by the time they are ready to put out the dogfighting module.

Dog fighting in APRIL!!!!!!!!!!!! OMGOMGOMGGMO!!

I guess you missed the PAX announcement then, that was a week or two ago.

I'm ready for April then.. hehe :toast:

Yep, I heard the new from PAX and proceeded to dig out my flight stick. It hasn't seen any action since I stopped playing PlanetSide 2. I'll probably end up going back to PS2 some time this year, but I needed a break from the whiners, griefers, and horrible balancing.

anyone else watching cosmos right now? really getting me into a star citizen mood right now can't wait.

I'm hoping for some new stuff in the hangar soon, especially P2P so we can visit one another. I'm liking the "Next Great Starship" competition, though I'm not really excited about a mercenary gunship.. Time will tell I guess.

The organization is doing well, we're ranked 45th (in activity) last I checked with 23 members! Our newest member, TheMailMan wishes all to "live long and prosper", though he cannot be with us right now due to some jerk moderator using his banstick on him once again. Heh.
