5. Set cache voltage option to manual mode and set it to 1.15v
.

i did that and it worked ... u want to go 1.2 i go do it .

could the cooler issue be a conflict with bios fan controls? what happens if i disable them ?

@prescient Listen to MxPhenom and fullinfusion. They obviously have experience here. Even if you don't kill your CPU you are shortening it's lifespan.

where did i disobey ? ? he said start with 1.5 until 1.2 1.5 worked so ?

he likes to smoke I guess lol
The DC chip loves the high stock cashe voltage, like 1.2**V and it just goes up from there

And 90c dont worrie about it, the chip will protect itself

ill go use 1.2 cash , went 90c only for 20 min i allowed it to see how far the cooler will
act stuck at 1000 rpm in case things got messed up . the worse was 45c fluid temp
90c cpu it stopped falling from there , i disabled fan controls from bios maybe it bothering
the driver

Well, that is why I am wondering because he isnt running a DC chip, and that 1.5v is just creating a lot of unnecessary heat.

where did i disobey ? ? he said start with 1.5 until 1.2 1.5 worked so ?

I think you need to read more carefully. Not once did I say run 1.5v on the cache. I said start at 1.15v. Keep cache voltage as low as possible as it can create a lot of unwanted heat.

Hell, id drop cache multi down to 39x. And run 1.15v all day on the cache and be done with it. Increasing the cache multi does not yield much performance increase in real world.

@MxPhenom 216

IMHO Id leave the cache multi alone and set the cache voltage to auto.

There is no evidence that raising the cpu Cache multi that it enhances overclocking at all.

Sure raise it and you score a couple points here and there but keep running the test and I betcha the score drops a bit...
but leave it alone and the score stays a constant ;)
Leave the cache alone because I and the guru have come to the conclusion that it dont do shit besides raise heat...

If it bothers you so much why do you pop in and post useless shit?

I think we come to the agreement the OP doesn't understand English all that well, and some of us tolerate it to a point and at least try to HELP!.

I'm sure you've been there before, I know I was a noob back in 08 and resorted to TPU for help.

yes am so sorry i meant 1.15 v cash . i never have set it to 1.5 . stupid typo . hunter said cash will over volt if i dont set it .
ill leave cash on auto multi and voltage . ill test the cooler again on 1.27 cpu v and post if the heat is ok we leave it on custom to avoid the extreme fan drop error

OK, I thought you now had your stable overclock? Your cooler issues are a seperate thing, if I close the thread you will always be able to refer back to it, to be honest, this is a 4 page thread that.... with a little effort could have probably been sorted in one page :)

I agree with Tatty. This thread is just being dragged on about the off-topic cooling "issues."

I wouldn't "forget about the guides"
Haswell is pretty much the hardest thing ever to overclock

Unless you have a golden chip, you're not going to make 5Ghz stable on air/water.

You should aim for 4.5-8 with acceptable temps.

i have a stable 4.5 @ 1.20 volts and i haven't even tried pushing it higher or lowering voltage more yet.
let me guess , that is you holding the cpu ?

5. Set cache voltage option to manual mode and set it to 1.15v
.
that what i was trying to say . its working on 1.150 v

2. Set each of the 4 Core multipliers Ratios to 44 (This will get you 4.4GHZ. Good starting point)
why not sync all cores ?

OK, I thought you now had your stable overclock? Your cooler issues are a seperate thing, :)
yes but i have achieved lower temps with 4.5ghz and i added things
am dealing with the heat to see if i need to use the cooler on extreme or on custom . as its having issues
on extreme
http://community.thermaltake.com/index.php?/topic/203-water-3-extreme/
buggy software .
ill post my final results . leave it open in case i needed to ask about another thing so i dont have to
start another thread . it will be my personal guide .

Core multipliers Ratios to x45 targeted speed 4.5GHz

3. Set min cache 35 max cash Ratio to 42 by hunter recommendation .
4. vcore 1.270 v
5. cache voltage to 1.15v

6. Leave System Agent, Digital and Analog I/O to auto
i dont know anything about that is it on auto already ?

8. eventual Input voltage to 1.79v hunter recommendation
Digi+ options:
Load Line Calibration to Level 6.
cpu power current 120%

that is about it .

been testing all day now

on extreme 75c / custom 79

4c difference to throttle the fans from 1500 rpm to 2000
i tested 3d mark 11 then playing star citizen on high for 15 min
it was 60 on extreme about 64 on custom .
i guess from what i tried extreme is more effective over 75 c i dont see what will
push my chip over 70c now . ill go on custom . save cooler consumption and avoid driver bug .

this is it . if i need anything else tell me plz . see you guys in star citizen the multi player is out
