Thanks so much for your review Dave, and for showing some real world gains in performance from using high end memory, as opposed to just synthetic benchmarks, proving the real value on investing on these kits. Your excellent review will help me OC my proc and I might actually take your word and ask for your help maxing up my RAM performance
I have this exact same kit and processor, I found this kit for $389 at Newegg, and it quickly sold out after I ordered it, at the moment, I don't think any other memory manufacturers offer so much performance for DDR4 kits at this price, unfortunately, this exact same kit is just back in stock at Newegg for $499, over a $100 markup to the MSRP, somewhat destroying the value/performance ratio G.Skill achieved with their excellent DDR4 kits, hopefully, like what happened with the 290X last year selling for $799 or more, the bubble will burst soon and prices will go back to the more reasonable MSRP or even lower, otherwise, the adoption of the X99 platform will be marred by etailers with very low standards that want to fool people and make a quick buck.
At $389 these RAM kits are the best deal you'll find when shopping for DDR4 RAM, so wait for the prices to go back to normal before you pay more than you should for a decent performing quad channel kit.
