Is it normal for the GPU load to be all over the place?

For example, while playing Borderlands Pre Sequel, GPUz shows the load swinging wildly from 100% down to 40% back up the 70 and then down to 30, etc. Did this in BF4 too, with DX11, but was able to get little better fps by increasing the resolution scaling. I'm using 14.9 drivers.

vsync?

temps?

cpu load?

No vsync and temp is constant at 75.

I noticed that thanks to physix, one of my cores is almost 100% load. Thanks Nvidia and gearbox. It's probably why my fps and load is all over the place.

You can't, you can only turn it to low.

I was gettting wild swings in load on bf4 but turning up the resolution scaling helped that game in DX11. All though Mantle is much, much better as in increases my lows a lot.

you 100% sure it is of in the game and ccc?

only other thing is something i hate to call out, but cpu bottleneck?

have you tried playing with your cpu overclock to see if it has an impact?

Yes I'm sure. In game I've limited it to 120 fps (in Borderlands), but any time there's anything Physix related on screen, my fps take a dump.

One of these days I'll get around to seeing how much of an overclock I can get out of this card. Right now I'm just having too much fun being able to play everything in Eyefinity resolutions without much of any hiccups and having the detail turned up too. World of change coming from two 5870s. Not to mention the ability to record gameplay without taking any hit in performance.

I'm currently testing my Sapphire 290x reference topped with an EK-FC 290x copper waterblock, ...by testing, I mean playing FC4 :)

Everything on Ultra, 1900x1200, it's just plan beautiful on all stock settings. Now I just have to open GPUz, play and post some screenshots. Then play with some overclocking.

Any one else able to get the new VSR feature in Catalyst to work using the Omega 14.12 drivers?

If this chart is correct, that explains why I haven't got it. How can they leave out 1600p?

Works fine here with a 1080p including 3840x2160 so i have no idea why it says 285 only.

This is funny. No issues with other drivers, but the omega doesn't even have the hardware ID for a 290x? Are you serious? I d/l straight from AMD LOL

D/l from TPU just now and it works.... something screwy going on, here.

Probably has to do more with PhysX running on the CPU since it's a TWIMTBP title and Gearbox thought it would be a good idea to force the bad experience on everyone as even nVidia owners are having low fps issues. Though this Omega driver has seemed to help things out a lot and I don't get as many low fps issues.

I also seem to be one of the few that like Raptr, at least the GVR part. Just wish the end quality was not so grainy even at the highest bit rate. I kind of wonder if it's because of the resolution I run since I can't only select 1080p max.

my cpu is i5-4670 and i have no intention to do any overclocking will it work fine or should i look for another card?
I already replied in the thread you started asking the exact same question.
Multiple postings won't get you a quicker answer, it will just lead to confusion.

No, it won't!
Oh really? And you say that based on what? That psu puts out 38A(40A peak) on the 12v rail. Its not the best psu around, far from it, but it will be enough for one 290x with an i5, both not overclocked.

Same criteria you originally stated when you said it would. Nothing.
Oh yeah apart from, I looked at the requirements on the manufacturers site and they said a 750W PSU.
