Sorry to change the subject, but anyone who got the 970 STRIX from Newegg actually get the one free game promised?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121899&cm_re=gtx_970-_-14-121-899-_-Product

There wasn't anything in the box, or a code, or nada.
You will get a separate e-mail from Newegg with the title "Digital Product delivery" and it will have the product keys.

Anyone suffering hot RAM chips on the back of their card?

I have the GTX970 from MSI ("Gaming/TwinFrozr 4") and the 4 IC's on the back get really toasty.....90'C kinda toasty. :twitch:

I was thinking about some little sinks... any input?? :toast:

Im in. Just purchased 2x ASUS Strix GTX 970 to run F@H on. For the money, they're a beast of a card.

arent 780s still better thank 970s when it comes to number crunching???

Ive also seen in a lot of benchmarks where 970s are slightly weaker despite supposing to be a more powerful card.

PPD /W though... 780s are 250W cards. 980 is 165W. ;)

It was stock LN2 bios on newegg retail card without additional Asus extension power card yet. Only cold ambient NY night which perfect for benching :)

Heres with 3D memory 9000 locked bios http://kingpincooling.com/forum/showpost.php?p=28574&postcount=1

and 9000 mem no problem @ 1.7Vmem and 1.5Vgpu. Still on h2o

decided to bump my clocks a little for the lols

+87mV core voltage
+110 power limit
+200 core clock
+450 Memory clock - But i have heard that these cards can run all the way to +500 with no problems unless luck of the draw happens

- Rather modest OC tbh, I just googled 970 OC and copied whatever settings the other people had and this seemed to be the most common set of OC settings.

Ive done 10 runs each of Metro 2033 & Metro LL bench with everything cranked up and I have not seen any artifacting. I think i have 3DMark installed so i might give it firestorm a run.
