Best PSU manufacturer

Which would be the Top5 ?
I don't know if I made a mistake, but I have a Corsair AX860i and it's not even old, it has 3 months only and already has coil noise. And from my point it is faulty. I will do a RMA, but I would like to know from you guys, many maybe have experienced the same thing, which would be the next best thing.
I was thinking about Antec and I've put my eyes on the HCP-1300 .
From what they say there, it must be pretty damn badass.
Also was thinking about Enermax, but I'm not so sure about this.
I'm looking something in the range of 1000->1300W, maybe 1500, but it will be too much and useless.

Delta psu made in 1998 near. Only 230w but they are damn heavy and reliable. Still use it in some setup.

Your specs say that you have no GPUs yet so I wonder what your setup will be to require 1,000 to 1,300 watt but I have had good experiences with Corsair and Seasonic. My next PSU will be an EVGA Supernova G2 most likely.

Well seeing how power requirements for CPUs and GPUs is becoming less every generation, PSU requirements are going to be less as well, which is already happening as has been.

In no particular order. Those are the only three I can buy basically any unit they make and know I'm getting a good unit with no worry.

All PSUs have coil whine under certain conditions. It all comes down to if you put the PSU in those conditions or not. You could send me your PSU and I might never experience coil whine. It is just luck of the draw.

That isn't always true. There have been several times in the past where power consumption went up from one generation to the next, sometimes pretty drastically.

I dont see the point of the debate. Question was if Antec or Enermax. Anyone is free to put whatever he wants in his system. 500w 1000w 1500w. I think i will google about this.

I think it was good for their AIO liquid coolers only because it gave an easy way to monitor pump speed to make sure the pump wasn't dying. Yes, you can plug it into a fan header and monitor it that way, but I've had motherboards that wouldn't read the pump speed properly when it was plugged into a fan header.

I think for power supplies it is a total gimmick.

I stick to Antec HCP units since the OEM is Delta and they have every protection you can think of and a multi rail design.

From my experience, Seasonic PSUs are extreramly good in voltage regulation, but tehy are sett up a bit on the safe side when it comes to fan speed. (somewhat nosy)

Have a corsair AX850 as well, a bit less aggressive fan profiles but the voltages are not as stabe as my current beQuiet 1200 dark power (seasonic OEM unit with a beQuiet fan)

You will have to define whatr makes the best PSU before you can declare the king, as there are several measures of "PSU preformance" some of them are:
Voltage Stabilizability under load
Ripple suppression
Efficiency
Noise
Longevity
Price

if you live in a part of the world with ridicules consumer rights (looking at you USA, whats up with NOT displaying VAT on products?) then waranty also becomes important.

In short, there is NO perfect PSU, and there is no perfect PSU manufacturer, it all comes down to what you value the most.

I'm not playing the lottery here. You either make something reliable and good or you don't make it at all.

Fuck, forgot about FSP. I love their line of non-ATX PSUs but I only use those on specialized builds.

Sure, but with the whole industry push for higher efficiency, more than years past, I foresee a continuing trend for lower power consumption across the board. Especially with Intel and Nvidia.

CoolerMaster eXtreme power plus are also good for basic psu but the older OEM not the newest. Cant remember who made them but they were better.

Import taxes here are 60% + conditional 'X' (where 'X' varies by region, here is 19%).

I am paying about $70-80 (at stores), or $90-$100 in the worst case for a $40 PSU here. A sad 2:1 ratio.

I found a good deal on a HPC-1300 from Antec, at least a good deal here. 50euro cheaper but seems stocks are empty
Enermax is very expensive.. i think because of the VAT.

Enermax is one of the OEM. Superflower as well.
