Help needed.

Hey. Have just bouhgt second hand motherboard and vga. Thereis a problem when i turn on pc, it wont detect screen, have tryed 3diffrent screens also dvi hdmi and dsub. Also tryed my old vga. msi 890fxa-gd65 is the motherboard, have cleard cmos, restarted bios, with no luck. Mabye i need to update bios. I dont know. Any out there that can help me? Thanks

Where did you buy the mobo? can you take it back?
dont do anything with the BIOS yet.

Are you seating the gpu properly, sometimes they need a bit of pressure to click in.

No beeps, fans spining, all ligths is on, vga fan not spinning, now im using old card no fans on it tho, yes clicked enough in

Those 5450 's can feel warm to the touch, obviously dont lick your fingers but does it feel warm?

So the fan on the new card doesnt spin? what card is it by the way.

Have you had a good look and i mean a very close look at the board ? do the capacitors look sound, not swollen or burst.

Mabye 30 celsius, does spin minimum when i turn on. Seems fine mbord yes, i use top slot. All the parts worked earlyer says seller, and he seems legit, has been on phone with him for hours

The 5450 is powered through the mobo if memory serves me right, does the new gpu need to be connected directly to the psu, what card is it?

RAM can cause problems, try and reseat everything just to be sure.

Yes, the grapic card is powered by 2x6pin 7870 "Windforce 3X".

I hope we can get it all running for you then because youve got the makings of a nice pc there. There may be unlockable cores on that chip but we can have a look at that later. Write down all the numbers off the cpu.

Bad memory can cause strange problems. A speaker would help you/us a lot. They are very cheap. See if theres one on your old board.

Use your old motherboard + CPU+ memory and try the gpu and new psu. If that works, put your old CPU in the new motherboard. If that doesn't work it could be the motherboard and if it works it could be the cpu

Well if it worked before then the CPU and Memory are compatible. Take it out of the case. Inspect the parts. Put it together out of the case and try it.

The cpu has never been out of the mobo. Sins it was new

No. Not unless you tried to flash it and failed

You got the motherbord, cpu and gpu together from a guy that was already using them right? In that case it should work without update

I'll try my old cpu asap then. Yes psu seems fine.

As i said before you will have to check all components. The easiest thing is to first use your old motherboard + CPU+ memory and try the new gpu and new psu. If that works, you can conclude that they both work and the culprit is probably the new MB or CPU. Since your old MB does not support your new CPU, put your old CPU in the new MB. If that doesn't work it could be the motherboard and if it works it could be the cpu
